After a whole lot of debate, I've finally decided to sell my Envemo.
ENVEMO Porsche 356 B/C cabriolet in classic Porsche signal red (sort of candy apple, but brighter). It has roll up windows, outside gas flap etc.. Just lika a real 356. You won't find a better late 356 replica than the one by ENVEMO. From what I've read it is the only replica made to the original Porsche specs. It has 23716km which converts to 14,738 miles.

The Engine:
2010cc with electronic fuel injection, built by Pat Downs of CB Performance. With counterweighted crank, Chevy rods, new case, 040 heads and Porsche style rocker arms. CB Performance knows how to build a strong, long lasting VW engine. Look at their track record

The Transmission:
A 901 Porsche 5 speed. It is out of a 911 and built strong enough to handle all the power the engine puts out. It also helps keep the engine in a reasonable RPM range at highway speeds. At first it seems a little strange to go down into first, but you get used to it. You really don't even need 1st gear, with the big torquey engine.

The Chasis:
Not the typical VW Beetle frame replica, but a special enginered frame that was built specifically for this model. 4 wheel disc brakes and Fuch alloys.

The Interior and Convertible Top:
Real leather tan interior it is great as is, but if you want to win shows, it should be dyed or redone. The top is the same, it works, but if it was redone it would be stunning.

When I bought the car, I drove it back from NJ to FL. Since then I've been to the beach a few times (about 1hr trip),to Gainesville (about 3hrs) and to work. It is great to go to social functions and pull up in a classy old Porsche. No problems what so ever, I changed the oil every 3000 miles with full syntetic.

The bad:
Like I said the interior and top need a little work, not that anything is ripped or torn, just doesn't look as good as it could. I bought a new ceramic coated sidewinder exhaust from A1 in California, (cost over$500), but haven't put it on yet. The Porsche sounds more like a Harley about now. I think the previous owner liked it loud. Also, in the back passenger side above where the battery sits the paint is crazed, about a 6 inch square. Apparently, at one time or another the battery wasn't fastened down and it bounced up and hit the body, just enough to flex the fiberglass. Oh and the cable for the gas flap needs to be repaired or replaced, it is hard to pull.

The Porsche is a great car and it needs nothing to be enjoyed right now. I have a clear FL title.

I'm asing 23,500, please let me know if you are interested.

I use to own this car ( 3 times to be exact) It is the fastest porsche replica on the east coast....real scary fast, but timid enough to drive every day. There was more than $40k invested in this car. It was built by Chuck Beck and motorized by Pat Downs. Pat told me when they tuned it up, they would go out and smoke a couple 911s to make sure it was running right. Neat, neat car. Tom
Envemo update: The car is generating a lot of buzz. I've been getting emails from all over the country and a few from other countries.

The first people to stop by and see it were grinning from ear to ear the whole time. Don't know if they will buy it for sure, but he seemed to know a lot about old Porsches and she seemed to know a lot about old VWs. We'll see if it is a good match, but as for now the Envemo is still for sale.

Also, thank you Carey and Tom. You guys know more about the car than I do. I fell in love with the body style and then found out some of the history. I have a big book with all kinds of stuff in it. Copies of the original Blue Ray sales brochure, Hot VWs writeup on the fuel injection, Pat Downs original invoice, etc.. I also have little bits that I was going to put on, but never got around to it like, the new hood handle, lenses for the headlights, rear lic light, etc.. They all go with the car.

Who wants to go Carlsie this year?

Somebody buy my Hoopty so I can buy that Envemo!
One MILLION dollars ...
Okay, I'll take -- nevermind.
But I sure would like that car. Someone's going to luck into that thing. It'll go down like this:

"Oops, I tripped and stubbed my toe."
"Can I help you up?"
"Thank you very m-- Hey, is that an ENVEMO? And here it is; my weighs-too-much checkbook, and a pen! What luck!"
"Ma'am, are you okay?"
"Yes, I've just hit my head. Will a million bucks cover the cost of the car?"
"I'll manage. Make the check out to Scott ..."

Just wait and see. It could happen ...
