I would really like to keep it but then I'd have 2 Intermeccanicas. My wife said no. If anyone is interested PM me. I'll probably post an Ebay add next week. Wanted to give you guys first crack at it. You know its a nice one. I bought a speedster so the Conv D hard top comes with the car. I am keeping my hard tonneau to be matched to the speedy.

I found that you don't get much for second hand wives! They are just to set in their ways and stubborn. Good choice keeping the 2 IMs! I thought next car would be another Spyder? Or a 904?
So, Phil, you pulled the trigger. You'll love your new IM...
Good for you!
And your current one is a beaut. Someone will be very happy with it.
Congrats Phil, care to share the details of the new speedy and will we see it at Carlisle.
The speedy I hope to get will be better than a spyder or a 904...at least for me. Should be the best of all worlds. Not going to kiss and tell yet.
Does the sale of the current car include a yorkie that we must fear?
His colors do match that car perfectly. But I'm keeping my sidekick.
well, his colours go with black too
Phil, I'm surprised you didn't buy a another Spyder.
Are you getting one built or buying used?
I think he bought this one:

Correct me if I'm wrong.
Just put together a fact sheet. Its amazing the improvements (in my mind) I've made to this car. If the other car falls through I'll be happy to keep this one.

Hope the deal goes through for you Phil.
I know theses nitch market cars can take a long time to sell. In an effort to try to sell this car quickly I'm going to let it go for $40k. I know that sounds like a lot. But for the guys on this site who know Intermeccanicas and know my car, its a pretty darn good deal. If I wasn't getting a great deal on the car I'm buying I wouldn't let it go for this. I really need the garage space. Going to try and get some pics this morning. Pouring rain all day yesterday.

Great price Phil. Someone is going to get a great looking, sorted, and quality built Intermeccanica!
I'm glad somebody here bought the black IM/2.7. The price (while a lot of money) was really, really good.
$40K for yours is also a steal. Well bought, well sold.
Well, Stan. It was too much of a bargain to pass up, so I bought that black IM6. I am going to sell mine and buy a Winnebago, so I can go travelling and pull the new IM6 behind me.
My car just had too much horsepower to be fun.
Wait! Now I'm confused. (no surprise there) Is Bob: IM S6 speaking for Fear The Yorkie Phil or did Bob buy the black IM6 and he's really going to buy a Winnebago? If so what is FTY Phil going to get.
I rode shotgun in Phil's car at Carlisle last year and I can tell you all it is pretty fantastic. The top seals perfectly and the engine is bullet proof. Someone is going to get a smoking deal.
Look at the date...

Hook, line, and sinker. FISH ON!!!!!
This car has a lot for the price. I haven't seen that engine on one of these before. How does it compare to a Subaru? I am looking for a IM but was looking for a black or blue color combo.

Well, you can only dangle the line once a year...
All in good fun.
Honestly if I was building one I'd go suby. Lower center of gravity and with the 2.5 you get 165 hp. Mines about the same power as a 2.2 suby. All subys are rebuilt engines unless you find a low mileage engine out of a wreck. Mine was brand new crate engine. And it's German. And with the new exhaust it rips.
And it's a great looking car.
He's right though. It's a polarizing color. People either love it or not. My wife loves it. It does look better in person. Old Mercedes color. Beigh gray.
The new car you bought looks like a beast!!
I have to say having owned two IM's, one used and one new build, that the hardtop is a $3K option on Phil's car. (want to sell it separately )
For a well sorted and driven car, which in and of itself makes sure the car is well sorted as some on the list have found out, I would say his IM is fairly priced to sell. As for the colour what colour does not look good on a 356
Heaven help me. I'm tempted. Phil please email me at carloseverett@bellsouth.net , so we can set up a time to talk via phone.

Well, you got me good Bob.
Motocarlo, you know good value when you see it that 2003 is as good as gone ... great stuff.
I too rode in Phil's car at Carlisle. Sweet ride. If I recall he quoted some impressive MPG for his ride from VA Beach to Carlisle. The IM "D" top mechanism is a work of art compared to the Speedster mouse trap.
Screaming deal. The typical well-sorted IM roadster (if there is such a thing, given their rarity), with an 85-horse 1776 is $45,000. This car has air, maintenance-free, fuel-injected 130-hp engine, removable hard top and a lot of fine and careful detail work.
Screaming deal, imho.
Ed said it. I read the spec sheet -- this car is awesome. Maybe not my ideal color combo, but beautiful all the same. IM fit and finish. Can't do better. I bet it sets a record for quickest sale ever. W the hardtop and all the rest, this Speedster could be a daily driver in any of the 50 states.

I always wondered if that car was more than you could handle.
When mom used to tell us that a man has to know his limitations she was looking at you Bobby-boy.
That woman did like Clint Eastwood movies, didn't she.
Brother Ron: It's not so much the car, it's just the dream of having my own Winnebago, and hitting the open road. Staying at run down campsites with filthy crappers; mingling with real (weird) people who are the salt of the earth; sitting around a campfire singing country and western songs; eating beans out of an old tin plate; drinking coffee full of wood smoke; and sharing hand rolled smokes with JimBob and BetsyLou. I miss the simple life you, our other brother Ron, and I used to have with Mom in that old shack down by the river.
I need to get back to my roots. To feel the soil in my hands; the dust in my throat; the thorns in my feet.
It's a dream I need to fulfil...and perhaps in another lifetime, I might.
Damn. Is it no longer April 1st?
Love this car. Wish it were my time
Ray, I have gotten quite attached to my blue 2003. It has turned into a cool car. Plenty fast. Just a very nice roadster that is fun in the twisties. No kick ass Speedster, but pretty dang good none the less. I am still hoping to put a subie in it. But if Phil decides to sell his car, ... who knows?
Well I had a 2004 2110 and it went well and I could have continued with it ... so I understand completely... it can work more easily to move up to a newer platform better susp, brakes, engine etc at a used price if you desire to try the new platform
just saying
Actually I'll use the Tom Murtagh ( hope I spelled it ok) I'll just leave it there
