Kevin has a great suspension setup with Mendeola. I bet it rivals the 911 setup for a fraction of the cost.

I'll take that bet.

Part of what makes a 911 set-up so desirable to me is how compact it is. There is nothing inboard of the frame rails to get in the way of dropping the tanks down to the level of the belly-pan of the car. Dropping the fuel opens up huge amounts of real estate in the frunk, and transforms a speedster from a "pack carefully" proposition into a "yes ma'am, two suitcases is fine" road-trip.

Couple that with no bump-steer, and it's the hot set-up.

... also, regarding a "no-brainer" $60K car purchase-- a $60K IM/6 is indeed a screaming deal (as I said many times), but $60K will buy a lot of automotive love. A new Corvette, a nice used 911, a GT500.

It'll also buy a lot of other things. I bought my first house for 2/3 this much money, and I've bought a couple recently for just a bit more. I could go on a tropical vacation (all inclusive) 20 times for this money.

The buyer will do fine on this, but it's always easy to spend somebody else's money in hindsight.

60k may not be a lot of money for some people but it is to me. Last IM I bought without a PPI (pre purchase inspection) I had to put another 5k into the car as soon as I got it. Henry told me not to buy the car without a PPI. I was determined to do my due diligence on this car before I bought it. Guys at Akers told me about problems this car has had in the past. I wanted to make sure that these problems were rectified. I laid out a series of steps to get the car. I told the seller I would not deviate from these steps. Steps were not complete so I'm at peace with not getting the car.

This was really smart thinking on your part.
