Can anyone tell me what is used to separate the upper engine compartment from the lower, where the exhaust is??? The car is a Vintage and has the fiberglass pieces that come close to engine tins. (or what ever they're called) But I believe there must be something, hard rubber or something, that connects to the fiberglass and touches the tins on the engine, but still allows movement of the engine. Thereby sealing the bottom half of the engine from the top.
Thanks,Rick

H-seal is the best - most flexible in that it can accomodate large misalignments due to its shear size. I use them where I can. Since I have a rather rare (RaceAir) vertical shroud, I had to come up with something else to seal around the shroud. I found some boomarang shaped rubber at a parts store and had to staple it to the shroud. It works. By the way, polished aluminum sheets make great engine tins and look bitchin too - in case you need some.
Hi guys!! Thanks for the welcome; I'm still between NOLA and PR; of course still based in PR. Still have my Speedy and still cherish it the same as when I first got it. Still tinkering; on my visit home last month I went for a nice drive to the other side of the island and discovered that the alternator went bad. Already have another one to take with me in a couple of weeks to swap it. It never ends but the enjoyment never ends as well....
