Serino's is out of Busness

I have not got a conformation on any charges from my bank. So Im not yeat showing to be charged for my sidewinder. That I ordered on 8/24/07.

But they have closed the store efective 8/28/07..They have took down their ads on the Samba. and stated Due to things beyond there control the Busness is closed

If anyone has anything pending you better call your bank.

But looks like I will have to make my own header and muffler from the pictures and drawings I have which I hate to have to do.

Anyone else heard anything.

It's good enough for them If they can't run a honest busness. the first time I read the feed back athe samba back in June I was very reluctant to order the exhaust or anything from them I got my new engine from someone else, Just because of the good feed back. and left Serino, alone untill I had to have the exhaust. that no one else makes.

One thing is for sure he can't take it with him.

That's a genuine shame! I've had past dealings with Steve, all of them good. The fall-out from this is gonna be far reaching for sure.

Visited his shop. He had the best prices out there.

Serranno didn't make them-- they sold them for A1. Call Tiger, and he'll set you right up.

I bought direct for my 1-5/8" set-up, and I just called about a 1-3/4" for a bigger engine. His pricing is fair, and if all you want is the header itself (so you can do your own exhaust thing), he'll do that as well.

Stan bought the bends to build one of my own, through jeggs .Even worse news

Serino. stiffed me for $450 dollars its been 2 weeks today. sence I ordered it. If A-1 got the money and its still on its way Thats fine. But looks like someone would tell their customer whats going on.
I've been dumped to voise mail every time I have called try to find out if I will get the muffler by retreaving a tracking number.
If I get fine I'll just put it on the 356. But i have to have one by next week so I can do the automatic beetle conversion and install my new milage motor. Im taking my vaction week to do this.

Tiger's number at A1 is 714-836-7201. A 1-3/4" primary tube header (no muffler) in raw finish is less than $300. It's a screamin' deal.

I think you may have misunderstood the nature of Serrano's- they were a bottom-feeding engine shop that branched out into parts resale a few years ago. They didn't make anything. As far as I can tell, with custom exhausts, and DTMs, and all other specialized part from other sources-- he'd buy big batches, and then resell them cheap. The prices really were intoxicating, and unrealistic. I got everything I ever ordered, but I should have known better than to play with fire.

As far as the lost money-- if you go over on the Samba, you'll come away with a bad feeling in the pit of your stomach. I really doubt you'll ever see your money, or exhaust again. Steve took people for thousands of dollars, and took money right up to the day he shut the doors.

Within a year, I hope to have my 1-5/8" A1 Sidewinder header with about 3000 mi on it for sale. I'll shoot you an email when I'm ready to sell.

My advice for now? Contest the charges on your card right now-- let the credit card company duke it out.

My new engine came in with some cosmetic damge on it. The air cleaners all bent up and the filters crushed and a busted cap and rotor
We were a fraid there was some fin damage, but we got lucky. They sent out the needed replacement parts and are going to honor the 2 year warrantiee. But I was sweatiing for 2 days over this. Then the starter died on the El camino and I had to patch and then order a new one (high tourqe reduction drive unit) Ouch! $212.oo
Then when we put the car on the lift we found a leaking rear brake seal (new shoes an wheel cylinders $80.oo not to bad . then Sunday after we tryed to patch a leaky valve cover gasket and it got worse, I redid both.

Not to menchion I still havent got a tool to finish the Mckevey hub. And Now the Serino flop .If I had hair I'd have pulled it out..

Stop. Take a deep breath. You can buy a new A1 sidewinder (header only) FOR LESS THAN $300!!!!! Your time has to be worth something. Seriously- you'll have at least $100 in bends, tubes, and collectors, and it probably isn't going to be an equal length system in the end, anyhow. If you just buy the header, you can play Meineke man with the muffler, and everybody wins.

Put down the welder, back out of the garage, and call Tiger. Really. You are making this WAY too hard.

Done got it almost finished. TOO LATE! I only need to add to more flanges, and make up the #4 pipe and it will be finished.
