.
I don't know if this one's red or not - I only saw the classified ad in Craigslist -
.
regarding 'did you get Brian's car?' yup - if you mean Brian in Menlo.
.
I've got it - it's having some sound muffling work done (very loud 'muffler'!) but doesn't need much else - I think it's a good car.
.
I'd arranged to buy a similar one from FL, with even lower mileage (!) - but backed out when I found out how complicated the registration would be - the CA registration transfer of the car I bought here was very simple - it's registered as a 2002 SPCN as you know, and the smog exemption just transferred with it.
.
Good luck finding a car - the SF Bay Area seems like a pretty decent place to find one, given enough time and some $.
Rick
yup!
i'm definitely only looking for CA titled/registered cars. I was also looking at some other spyders that were titled as '55/'56 porsches. Haven't spoken to my insurance about these titles, but Brian's title/registration was perfect for me; I wasn't going to pay that much at all if I went with the car.

Definitely congrats on the car! I checked it out at Deiter's in MP as well (I also live in MP), and the car is NIIIIIIIIIICE!.
The mechanics there recommended 2 things however; an oil cooler/oil cooler hose? as well as a magnetic ignition thingy. I don't really know what that ignition thing is, but give them a call. They said that it would help with future maintenance, in the sense that timing would stay put.

Both parts would cost only around $100-150 or so.

As for the hunt for the spyder,
I really only started looking for one around March-April of this year and to my surprise, have found TWO in Menlo Park. The previous one was owned by one of the owners of AkkuratPGI in Menlo Park. He was asking $16k---great deal, but I was in Boston at the time. I asked my Dad to check it out, but it was sold by the time he got there.

I'm still waiting for the right spyder, and still feel a good amount of remorse for not getting Brian's/yours. With that, ENJOY THAT CAR! it's great!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

p.s., if you're selling it, let me know ;)!!!
Also, I saw some of your pics of the car; do you work/live near SCU?
Both are great. However, they're a bit over my price range. I know that they're Vintages, and with that, are very, very nicely put together.

I'm aiming at spending $20k at most.

(and also, I don't like those gills/vents on the rear 1/4 panels).

So if you guys ever run into some,
please lemme know!!!!!

thanks for the top ads though
