Very very nice. How thick is the floor? I think Vintage uses 3/16".

@DannyP Yes, the aluminum floor on a V is pretty thick. Likewise we use a core-matte composite floor that is uber strong on our Becks.
The floor on these is paper thin, probably .032 aluminum. However the seats, shifter and pedals all mount to crossbars so nothing mounts to the floor and strength isn't needed in that regard
Every detail that comes out about this car makes me shake my head in wonderment. It's not just that it's accurate and beautiful, but also that every last thing about what Carey and Anand started with makes this ridiculously hard.
.032 is not much thicker than aluminum coil-stock used for siding trim (which is .019 or .024).
That's thin...
@Stan Galat — thanks for the kind words! Carey is truly incredible. I have never seen someone with such incredible problem solving and fabrication skills. This car is a testament to his abilities.
Here’s the underside, after paint. It’ll dry until Monday and then the upholstery will continue.

I doubt that the originals were built to this level of quality, Anand. Carey and team are doing an incredible job.

For reference .032 is the thickness of residential gutters.
.032 3003 H14 is commonly used in building race car interiors. It is relatively soft and easy to cold form, such as bending, beading and wheeling.
The workmanship on this car is absolutely fantastic!

The firewall is absolutely convincing. Just stellar.
Great progress from the guys at Special Edition! The rockers have been covered. They’ll secure them along the door thresholds with some screws a bit later today. Carey said they’ll hang the doors, too.
The tonneau is going to get test fitted again (with the doors in place) and I’d imagine Carey will paint it.
I’m sure there’s a punch list with a dozen little things that Carey wants to tidy up after that (Bendix fuel pump decals), 12v power outlet, etc. I’m assuming that there may be more after the car gets driven....

The door latches are right. The firewall is right. It's got the hold-downs. The stick, the brake, the shape of the sill. There are no tell-tales.
I figure I got my car's interior about 90 percent. This one is 100.
