As most of you know my car was backed into at dinner, luckily the woman left and note and her insurance picked up the tab. Sunday morning was delivery day and I can say you cannot tell the hood was repainted. I need to wait 60 days to have the clear bra redone on the hood but all in all everything worked out well. Thanks as always to @chines1, Mike and the rest of the crew at Special Edition.

Oh and the motor was completely rebuilt. #3 rod bearring was oil starved and got so hot it melted and shattered the rod and put the rod through the block (inside) a few times and then through an opposing piston. Let's just say lesson learned and Suby engines consume more oil then I though.

Time to enjoy the summer months and really get out and drive.

Great news Joe !!!!

Subaru engines are known to need oil verification rather religiously... And I dont mean on sabbat or sunday

Some can be really good and all of a sudden develop oil consumption according to some forums I read at 50k miles

When an engine is being rebuilt  the rings need to sit and dyno oil is recommended then after they do sit you can move to synthetic .... let's just say I am still on dyno

Until they sit and some oil consumption is to be expected or should I say possible

we wont talk about head gasket issues for now...

Subie says in the manual that 1quart per 1000miles is normal  consumption

not in my books and not for my hondas

Who take nothing after 15000 km  Or 9000miles

So new platforms have new issues to learn about ... just saying
