I'm not a patient man by any means when it comes to wanting something.

I looked at 10-15 cars and only 1 was Silver with black interior (amongst other things).

While looking at them I just kept thinking back to this one and how I wished they had this look.

Well... the previous owner and I came to an agreement on the price.  I didn't steal it but I paid less than any in its condition on eBay.

I present you..

2004 Vintage Speedster

Full canvas tonneau top and side curtains

Painted single hump racing tonneau w/ Porsche crest

Chrome turndown exhaust tips and Porsche nipple hubcaps

Headlight grills

Black Leather Interior and custom coco mats

Nardi wood steering wheel w/Porsche crest horn button

Stereo and cd player

Alarm w/ motion censor w/ Integrated kill switch

Three point aircraft style seat belts

Electronic hood release.

Front disc brakes.

1776 motor w/ dual carbs

3.88 freeway flyer transmission and electronic ignition

Car Cover

New battery and new master brake cylinder

I already put a battery tender on her too

Took it to Redondo Beach to watch the Sunset with my Girl.  I have owned a few nice rides and NOTHING in my time got the attention this car did sitting there.

In 45minutes we were there, we counted 7 separate people taking photos (2 with tripod set-ups). Countless compliments along with 5 full blown conversations about the car.  It was insane.....  I thought I had some decent rides until I picked this up yesterday.

Yep... worth every penny    <-- biggest smile ever

thanks guys, I'm happy

Two things while driving it home.

Pops bad on decel and GF said sparks coming outta the exhaust when it did this. Surely it's running way rich... maybe the duel carbs is a bit much for the 1776?

Ran great and smoooooth up until exactly 70mph and then she starts to shake pretty bad (enough to make me back off)  I tried accelerating past it but it stays consistent at exactly and after 70mph.  Thoughts?  Flat spots on tires?  (previous owner said he didn't drive it often)

Congrats on the purchase.  If it shakes at 70 it's probably wheels/tires.  Try having all four wheels balanced.  Does the shake feel like it's coming from the front or back?

My track Miata had a shake at 65, as many Miatas do.  To cure the problem I ended up paying big bucks and having all four wheels balanced on a Hunter Road Force balancer.

It feels like the whole car.  You're right, it could be the wheels. I'll go take a peek at them as I don't remember seeing weights.  hmmm

Good idea!  I have a good friend at A&D buggies who usually takes care of me for a 40oz.  If he falls through (as most friends do) I'll hit up John.  Maybe I'll pop in to Hot Rod Performance and say hi to the old boss
