Sometime this year I'll probably replace my stock shifter with something a bit more crisp, and that doesn't require me to lean forward to get into 3rd. After some digging, it's down to either the good old standby Gene Berg (with an engraved knob saying "Speedster") or a CSP from Germany. The designs and quality look similar, and the CSP is available with a black enameled knob instead of the T-handle. Their T-handle is billet aluminum, so it's nice too. The only reason I'm looking into them is that my interior is on the traditional looking side, and I wonder if the Berg would look a little out of place. I have to admit, though, that the one in Gordon's car shifter really sweetly. If I do this, I'll have a nice-looking Nardi knob for sale (unless I can fit it on the CSP :-).

Does anybody know anyone with experience with the CSP? What say yee?

I heard talk, once, about the Berg boys possibly offering their shifter with a ball or modified teardrop knob, along with a reverse-lockout ring just below the ball. Pull up or push down on the ring to engage reverse.

Don't know if this ever came to fruition, but it wouldn't hurt to call them up and ask...

That said, I find the "T" handle to be pretty much a natural fit for my hand. Much more so than I ever expected.
I like CSP they have always tried to do me right and they do carry high quality stuff. hence the higher prices.

But I'd still buy from them if I saw something I wanted..

Have you checked out EIS parts here in the states They carry some good parts too..

I really liked the 6inch fog lamps I got there.

Steve ? does the crested knob come in white?

Every once in a while, EMPI has a decent product. I've used their "Trigger" shifters for many years in my dunebuggy and other's I've built. They work great and have a short throw built in.
