Intermeccanica built in 1990. Anyone know how to take the rear seat out to get at the shifter tunnel?

It should be down lower on the very end of the tunnel. On my CMC, I did cut part of the rear seat riser for easier access (I probably didn't have to). Pull the tunnel carpet back from below the rear seat to locate it.

Wolfgang, thanks but I don't have a metal floor. Its a fiberglass tunnel. I think access has to be underneath the rear seat. I'm hoping someone with an Intermeccanica has done this and can advise me.
Underneath, above the transaxle there will be a couple of nuts on studs holding the seat down. If you undo the nuts you should be able to lift the seat up.
Thanks ALB. I'll get a light and have a look.
ALB, i got the nuts off and lifted the seat but there is no access port to get to the shifter to transaxle coupler. I guess I have to get at that from under the car. How have you done this?
Not a photo of my car --- but the lower black square is where I cut the rear fiberglass seat to gain clear access to the shifter coupler on a VW pan-based car.

Just saw this. Ignore everything else. You have an IM tube-frame car if you have a FG floor.
The tunnel is FG as well. You can remove it by finding several (3 or 4 per side) size-tiny screws down by where the sides of the tunnel meet the floor. Once you get the screws out, you’ll probably need to peel up the edges of the floor carpet, to free the tunnel carpet underneath.
Once everything is free, the tunnel will lift right out and everything will ge right In from of you.
Stan, thank you. Yes I have a tube frame car with a fiberglass floor and tunnel. I'll look for the screws that you mention.
I was having problems with reverse gear. I have an Empi type shifter that I removed and found several issues. The main culprit being that the wire to pull up on the reverse lock out ring had failed. So, I may not have to go after linkage issues after all. I will no doubt need to remove the tunnel at some point so thank you again for pointing me in the right direction.
