I ended up with this guy, He was the BEST and his rig was set up to handle show cars and show choppers.
He's used to SPECIAL cars and their needs and care. He's a regular on the shipping end of the hi dollar Car auctions and shows.
I don't know if he's still around but his number is on his truck. I live in PA and my Speedster traveled in luxury on it's way here.

i can tell you who NOT to go through, and that is AAA auto transport. they swapped my car into an open carrier at the last minute. my car arrived loaded with dust because the had loosened the top tensioner, took the windows out, and only put one of them back in...backwards.

without getting into their customer service, i will only say that it took 6 weeks to get my car. fortunately, it did NOT rain during the transit, and the car cleaned up fine without any permanent damage.
David,

I used Passport Transport for an enclosed delivery from the Florida panhandle to Whiteplains NY. Estimated time was 7-10 days for scheduled pickup to delivery. They picked up the car on a Sunday, and delivered it to me by Tuesday (3 days)!

They called to tell me the pickup was completed, and the driver called a day in advance to coordinate delivery. The truck was incredibly clean and well equipped. By the looks of the other collectibles in the truck, they are well trusted.

Good Luck - Mel
Passport Transport has been around for ages and is one of the most trusted and respected companies in the collectible car transport business. An older friend (now gone) who collected Franklins trusted them exclusively with his two gems and was never disappointed.

They are not inexpensive, but will treat your Speedster like a piece of Lalique Glass and give you the service you would expect. I have no interest in the company, other than through the experience of my friend.

There are several other respected transport companies out there - get a copy of Hemming's Motor News and you'll find ads for a bunch of them.

Good luck!

One of the kit car maazines just ran an article on a guy who runs a family owned and operated transport business. He used to deliver for one of the Cobra manufacturers around Oklahoma or Iowa, and started the company on his own. Gave him very positive write up with good references. I'll try to find his website at home tonite. It's good to have choices!
