My VS bottoms out when I hit a big bump, what is the best handling shock to use on the VS 1970 VW pan. I saw this in JCW

Thanks Dick

CALIFORNIA-LOOK SHOCKS
Get improved performance and a smoother, safer, more comfortable ride

For Volkswagen Beetle and Ghia with lowered front ends

Heavy-duty front shocks eliminate bottoming out due to decreased shock travel, help prevent costly tire and suspension wear. Big 1-3/16" piston provides greater stability and control.

Dick, sounds like you might try raising the front a little. Heavy shocks can cause a very stiff ride quality. Softer shocks seem in most cases to be the way to go. Either way, I have a set of new shocks for sale. They are the same brand used on the JPS, and Vintage cars. See the classified section. Eddie
You don't say whether it is bottoming in the front or rear, if it is the front the shocks are not short enough for your suspension settings. Either shorter sshocks or raise the front. If it is the rear install a pair of cut down rubber stops from a stock VW, we usually take off two inches from the stopper.
