I'm going out to Fallbrook to play for my sister's husband's memorial service on September 11and wanted to drive up to the Nethercutt Museum leaving from Long Beach where I will be staying. I plan on getting a ticket ( a must-have) for Monday or Tuesday (or possibly late Sunday afternoon) to tour the museum. Does anyone want to take the drive with me? (This trip is on my Bucket List since most of my family lived in the area.) Send me a PM with your phone number and I will see if we can get something going,

The roads from LB to Sylmar are predominantly busy, heavily traveled Los Angeles freeways. I assume you will be in a rental car and not the speedster you show with, umm, a few scratches?
oops...that was from another lifetime...and yes, I was planning on using the 'scratched up" speedster...
I also wanted to go up the coast a bit. My mother used to live in Los Osos. I need to go to Fallbrook also.

"a bit," you say? Los Osos is 200 miles up the coast from the Nethercutt in Sylmar and that's quite a few "bits." Also, Fallbrook is the other way - meaning South - from Long Beach about 100 miles. After making either trip you should fully understand why SoCal drivers consider the freeways to be their own living hell.
...well, it sounds as though I may have bitten off a bit more than I can chew. I'm stuck with the transport company, so I guess I will cut back on my driving. I always thought Atlanta expressways were bad, so I thought I could handle West Coast traffic.
I'm in Las Vegas, where I had my Beck dropped off and it's 110 during the day so I don't do any driving during the day. I'm leaving for Long Beach tomorrow morning, leaving around 5 ayem so hopefully I won't have any issues with the heat at that time. I hope my fans are working as I only hear them functioning when I get out of the car and the temp gauge is registering over 200.
Sylmar will be upper 90s next three days so if you head inland from Long Beach bring a hat and water!
...and make sure your AC is fully charged! LOL
