Side curtain visibility

That is great. Believe it or not I had sent Troy a private message earlier today asking what it would cost for him to replace the plexiglass in my cruzin windows with larger custom made glass to match a cardboard template of my window opening so the glass fits tight into the lip of my convertible top. This is to seal the drivers compartment better to extend my driving season into the colder months. I have heater core/blower heat from my Subaru engine. Your windows look nice. Good job.

I think the wings help the solid windows to keep the rain out more than the windows alone... is that true Bruce?

Jim...If any one can do that it's Troy. He's has a really slick track assy. now to fit any peg-hole configuration. I used 3/16"  thick polymer (lexan?). Be careful on the size of your template. If it's too big, it will be difficult to get in place when you close the doors because of the overlap/seal. I suggest you make one out of 1/8" plywood to the size, mount it, and see how it fits and works first. Once trimed and working, ship it to Troy.

Ray...Yes, they do help deflect the rain ! Not all of it but enough that you notice the difference.  Oh, and the can stay on your car when you install the side curtains. My Visors must come off when the top goes up though............Bruce

You might want to bump up to 1/4” thick acrylic, too.  I’ve been running slightly thicker than 1/8” acrylic for a while with windows very similar to Bruce’s, but it can tend to bow out at the middle in the vacuum created by a passing semi-truck at turnpike speeds.  The thicker window material would eliminate that and that’s what I’ll go to when I next replace them.  I’ve gone through some big downpours with the car on a trailer and things inside stay dry.

Mine have a small rain seal all around and the seal along the windshield is a tubular piece that really seals well.  The only place I get water intrusion is at the bottom corner of the windshield posts where it is harder to seal.  I’ll try to post some photos when I get home later on.

Good idea Gordon.......I noticed that "Lexan" ia way more flexible than Acrylic !  When I attached some more of it to my roll bar as a wind screen behind my head, it vibrated like hell !  I had to double up on its fasteners to arrest it..........Bruce
