Sierra Madre mesh grill fitment

Does anybody know if the snap on mesh style grills fit our VW headlights??

Jim, are yours the snap on or thumbscrew?

Keith - I have the snap on type. These have two clips at the 10-2 (o'clock) position that clip over the headlight ring and at the bottom is a tab that is attached to the screw that secures the headlight ring.

Be prepared to take the off and put them on a lot. Bugs come to the Midwest for family reunions.

Dumb question. Do you need to remove the chrome headlight ring to get the snap on style guards to go on?

No. Just slip the clips over the headlight rim before you secure it with the screw at the bottom of the lite rim. FWIW - I put a piece of electrical tape that just fits under the clips to prevent scratching the chrome.

When I get the car back, it'll make more sense how they go on..

Just spray them with Pam and drive real fast. The bugs don't stick.

If you take the chrom rim off to snap the grills on, doesn't it whack out the headlight adjustment?

No need to remove the headlight ring. Just slip the guard clips over the ring, remove the screw at the bottom of the ring and install the guard, replace screw and tighten. Easy-peasy!

All of the headlight setups should be the same, so I am pretty sure they would.  For absolute certainty, check with Carey or Kevin Hines at Special Edition.

Well, did I speak too soon? The finish and look of the good chrome might have fooled me... they won't totally fit over the glass edge.... and the stick up 3/16".... hmmmm. what am I doing wrong?

Oooooo, I like doze!  I wonder how they'd look over fluted lenses.
