What happened to the "Door Sill Plates" that were going to be offered? Did the ides just fall through or what? I think it would be a real nice addition to our cars.

I have tried to get in touch with Joe Soltis but the email address is no good. Anybody know how to get in touch with him to find out what happened with the Door Sill plates?

I'm still alive. The real job has kept me very busy. Nothing like spending 6 weeks in Siberia,Russia. No Speedsters there!Our company is involved with building a pipeline from Siberia to China. This would help China's demand with crude oil. It's not happening over night so the gas prices won't drop soon. As far as the templates go ... they are not! The only car I can get them for is the CMC . As you all know there are more than one manufacturer of Speedsters. The sill plate areas are not the same . I have asked fellow Speedsterowners to help by making a paper template to help getting them made. Really no takers. One guy asked for a discount if he made a template for me. I not making any money on the templates. I just have a contact that I have worked with in the past that has the equipment tp make them. Lynx my email works perfectly . I did reply to your email. So as it stands no sill plates.

Boy I bet you're glad to be back from Siberia! Maybe there were no Speedsters, but I'm guessing there was a Starbucks (or maybe a Starbuckski!).
I'm also betting that if you apply the same mad skills you've put into your Speedy (upholstery, etc.), that pipeline will be one cool looking project!

I'm interested inthe CMC version. How are they attached? Since we never step on the sill perhaps the industrial velcro would be enough and there would be no rivets/scres to mar the look?

You can get real sill plates from Stoddard's Import Cars Inc
Or any one of the other P* parts vinders. I used them on my VS to D vonversion. and they worked fine
