It has a little under 9,700 miles on it and is registered as a 64 VW and has tags that are good until August of 2013. There was no documentation with the car, but the previous owner was told by the original owner that it has a 1915cc, but there is no way to tell for sure without taking the engine apart. It has dual carbs with the upgraded linkage, it starts right up, runs fine and feels like it could be a 1915, but it could also be a 1776; there's just no way to tell for sure. It has a "Freeway Flyer" transmission, coco mats, carpeted trunk and the standard badging. The gauges, signals and lights all work fine and the interior, top and tonneau are in like new condition. It also has a set of my "Crusin" windows and headlight grills.
I can tell from the underside that it's never been driven in the rain and the paint is in beautiful shape, with just a couple of typical small stone chips on the front. The chrome is in great shape too and it also has nipple hubs, the cool kind, not the wanna be flat hubs like the Pleasanton car with the red interior has.

It has Alante vinyl, which is nearly impossible to tell from real leather and the Buy It Now price on eBay will probably be $21,000, but $20,750 will get it.

Well thank you.  It's nice to be loved even if it's by a bunch guys!

Jack.

Roland told me that Kirk sometimes writes the engine size on the back of the shroud and i posted it on here.  I checked this one and there is nothing there.

Steve.

A Freeway Flyer trans is a 3:88 and you will be spinning a little over 3000rpm at 70mph.

I believe the carbs are either Kadrons or Empi with upgraded linkage.  I'll look closer in the morning.

Meanwhile, here is what the eBay ad will look like.

Steve---your skills at presenting a car for sale are damned impressive to this old marketing guy!  No wonder you sell so many Speedsters.  The detailed write up along with the outstanding pictures and vids make an irresistable combo.  Of course being able to offer the finest cars to be found helps too!

Good job, Steve---I know this one will sell quickly.

Hey Matt, I wanna know who gets to drive the car... Your ID pix has a very nice looking partner there my new friend... or is she strictly a right seater? either way like Troy said... welcome to the Madness and get that S.E.G off your face...

P.S. did you go back and check the garage twice to make sure it was still there before locking up last night?

I did...

Looking forward to the insanity, fully expecting that S.E.G. to go away when I have to sheepishly post my first stupid question.

Matt.

Nice try Matt.  The seat has rails and I'm pretty sure it will go forward far enough for her to drive, but I'm not going to tell her!

Here is a link to all of the pictures of your car that you can share with your friends.

I think I had this black one when you were looking, but I knew you were looking for a certain color.

You would have saved a little money, but you got exactly the car you were looking for and it's a beauty.  I know you have had more than your share of problems, but hang in there and they will all be resolved.

Probably, but just to be safe, measure the distance from the front of the rail to the center of the first grommet and the distance from center to center of the grommets.  There is about an inch of adjustment either way.

Troy

Thanks all regarding the mesh headlight covers.

Has anyone tried to remove the chrome trim around the headight to rechrome ?

I spoke with Kirk about this and he said he didn't sell the chrome headlight trim separately.  I'd have to buy a new headlight bucket.  Seems like there should be a way to extract the trim from the rest of the assemly to rechrome or replace.

Thanks, Grant
