My daughter (didn't know I had a daughter, did'ya? - She's not a motorhead, I guess, and doesn't get a lot of forum time).  Anyway, my Daughter bought a pair of "Maine Coon Cats" a while back.  They're both almost a year old now and about the size of a normal, fully grown house cat, except that they have enormous paws already.

Supposedly, they're about the largest domesticated cat in North America.  Here's an image of someone else's "Coon" at a mature age - some of them get to be 30-45 pounds or more:

Nope.  We don't have one now (two dachshunds are enough), but had a sweetheart of a blue Russian for many years.  I swear she gets out of the little box on the mantle and runs around from time to time as I've seen a little gray shape out of the corner of my eye on more than one occasion.

Cats are evil

The "little gray shape" you are seeing out of the corner of your eye is just some neighborhood stray that got in the house and is now sizing up the best time to eat you....
