I have a notebook along side of the computer that I use exclusively for making technical informational notes from SOC threads.

One of these notations has me totally baffled because I simply don't remember what it refers to: "50% ACETONE 50% BRAKE FLUID"

I know it's important because it's capitalized and underlined twice!!!

Does this recipe and application ring a memory bell for anyone?

That may have been from me.

50/50 mix of acetone and automatic transmission fluid (any brand) makes the best penetrating oil I've ever used.  I got the tip from a Marine who lived near me who worked on F-18 Hornet aircraft.  He had also restored a Porsche 928(!)

Perfect use for used automatic tranny fluid.

I don't think the brake fluid would work at all......
