If the guy is selling this to buy a Corvette, I imagine he never really was a Speedster type to begin with.
I bet that car flies.
I was looking at that car last night. It is amazing how far they have taken the Speedster design. Wish I were in a different tax bracket... :-) .
Marty. Wheels and suspension look to be a bit puny for that car. Does it have the 914 suspension? Are those 4 lug wheels or 5? But I would agree probably a righteous deal on that car. Pretty much your engine?
Looks like 914 susp 4 bolt ? 5.5inch front and 7inch rear , type 1 Tranny, vinyl seats.
Not sure if it's Vynl but my car easily has 25k more in options(some cosmetic and some mechanical) just like a real Porshe you can ad 40k in options to a base IM build.
Build info says vinyl...no 5 speed, your right... a lot less options etc etc
Kind of a strange car. It's a convD interior minus the headrests but with speedster top and windows. For short guys who want comfort I guess. This car has the same front end as mine. 914 front torsion bars with pretty weak front brakes. My car has 145 hp and sometimes its kind of hard to slow down. Can't imagine trying to reel in 250 hp with my brakes. Not that they don't stop but they require tremendous effort. In regards to leather. I'm never doing leather again. Modern vinyls look like leather and wear much better. I didn't get leather in my wife's Mercedes ML250 Bluetec and she still has no idea. Only part of my IM that doesn't look brand new is the drivers seat. If I ever build another car it will have a vinyl interior.
Phil, you can get the dye from the leather company... an exact match, PM me . No one on this list is telling your wife that is...
I prefer leather, but with how you have to enter and exit these cars, it is so easy to quickly develop wear points on the driver's seat. I have taken to suspending myself in mid air as I try not to touch the seat until I actually drop down onto it.
My arm muscles are improving, as I have to do the same when I get out of it.
I need one of those hospital lifts...
250 hp through a type 1 transaxle. Why the hell not?
I think that engine is from a forester or an outback, it has a different manifold than mine.
Why do they keep popping up in Red?? Going to stick with my hardtop, for that price I can option up the heck out of Beck. Engine included...
