There was all this crap piled up inside this lady's condo, and it was difficult to make any progress without bumping into or stepping on stuff. Standard-issue apartment fire in a dwelling where there isn't a lot of storage and the resident has been there for decades.
Usually, you get this with really old people, but this lady was in her 40s or 50s.
So why so many news cameras?
There were some funky things inside the apartment; the kind you scratch your head and really wonder about. So, we watched the news last night, and whaddya know ... Surprise!

(Two-thirds of the way through this one, they got a shot of my helmet sitting on the curb. Funny!)

... I just think it's amusing. This joint was out pretty quickly, but that lady's collection was wrecked, 'cuz her things were stacked so high that it was difficult to figure out where it was burning. I try not to put this stuff up here -- but this one was really worth coming to work for.
(Darren et al; 161 was below grade on side Charlie, with the ground ladder and 300' attack line. Wound up doing truck work and overhaul instead. 30' elevation difference from the engine to the first floor, and it was the fourth floor apartment that was off.)
