Hello all you SO CAL SOC'ers.. I am looking to put together a little Dinner-drive and hook-up at a very cool open-air Mexican resturant in Orange (I think) for dinner sometime this summer... I think the name of the establishment is called Madiahaci's... There is plenty of parking and you can watch your car while you eat.. Besides they have strolling madiahaci's during dinner, it seems like a lot of fun and I heard the chow is good too. So anyone up for a lite evening drive then stop in for some chow and caddie margritias, just say the word and we can set this event up..

Jimbo, Gabe, Adrain or Desi, If you happen to know were and what I am talking about and you know the name please post it so I can get more infomation on local...

Speedster 'D', my brutha!!

I think the restaurant you're thinking of is El Mariachi! It's on Tustin Ave. (west of 55 Fwy) just north of Katella. Sounds like a cool place to try for Saturday lunch after a short morning cruise. Then you could get your menudo fix taken care of! Maybe sometime middle of August?

I'll look into a route we could run that will end at El Mariachi and post on here so fellow SOCers in SoCal can join in!

Peace - Out!
OK - let me throw this out...

When we determine a date (Aug 11th/Aug 18th/whatever) here's the suggested agenda;

1) 10:00 AM - Meet in the Target parking lot in Mission Viejo, OC (just off the I-5 Fwy).

2) Cruise through Trabuco Cyn, Modjeska Cyn, Silverado Cyn, continue on Katella Ave towards Orange.

3) 12:00-1:00 PM - arrive at El Mariachi Restaurant for lunch/drinks/music.

4) 2:00 PM - Watch Speedster 'D' do the Mexican Hat Dance.

5) 2:03 PM - Watch the bouncers throw Speedster 'D' and MUSBJIM out of the restaurant.

6) 2:15 PM - Watch local news channel televise cops putting a beat-down on Speedster 'D' and MUSBJIM in restaurant parking lot.

7) 2:35 PM - SOC group recovers from rolling on the floor laughing at the Dave & Jim Show, jump in Speedys for drive home!

All ideas and suggestions welcome...
Thanks Dusty, tell that Sweetie of your's Lili and I say "Howdy"... P.S. I STILL have not used your belts yet! LOL... The 11th looks good folks..

I'll be coming down from the north side so I do not know if Lili and i will make the OC run up... We might just meet at the location and save you guys some parking! Adrian, let me know if your headed down or if you wanna run down from Brea or somewhere.. You too Gabe (If you get that carb problemo worked out!) Lazy8ball you too...

OK, here's the low-down... The name of the joint is "Moreno's" and it has this sweet looking Ivy covered entrance, kinda like an old ranch style farm main gate... Address is:

4328 East Chapman Avenue
Orange, CA 92869
(714) 639-2181

I am not sure if they have their Strolling Mariachis at lunch time, but this place is very cool looking with some good food too, (I hear)

I figure to meet their around 12:00 noon, unless you have another time in mind?

OK, Speedster 'D', Moreno's on Chapman Ave. is the place.

Anyone interested in joining this cruise (Sat 8/11/07), I'll be in the Target parking lot at 10:00am. Target is located on the Alicia exit off the I-5 Fwy in Mission Viejo/OC.

Those coming from south of Mission Viejo exit on Alicia and Turn right.

Those coming from north of Mission Viejo exit on Alicia and turn Left.

I will be leaving the Target parking lot at 10:30am and cruising throught Silverado Canyon heading for Moreno's Restaurant.

Peace - Out!

Speedster "D' missing another DAMN event! :-(
Jim, my brotha, I guess we can't let them down!

We have family coming over too; Susan's sisters and brother are driving out from Corcoran. I'm thinking of letting them tag along or meet up later--we're still going.

I got the Speedster back on the road last night after a week of carpet installin', rewirin', and stereo upgradin'. Everybody with a "store-bought" tub should sleep well tonight with the knowledge that they didn't have to mangle a Vintage carpet kit to fit a CMC, or track down 10 different wires that were connected to nothing.

On the bright side I found that electrical gremlin, one of the dead end wires under the dash was supposed to be a ground.
David, my brutha!

Naw! I spoke with Stephan and told him I wouldn't feel right about him driving all the way from Temecula to join a 2-car parade. So we nixed the cruise for another time.

Instead, me and Ginny cruised the Speedy down to Laguna Beach and had a bite to eat and gauked at all the lobster-red-sunburned tourists on the Main Beach boardwalk. YIKES that's gotta hurt!

P.S. - It was also BIKINI BABES ON PARADE that day - Woooo Hoooo!!

Later!
