SOB!!!! Cracked the windshield and need one quick.

Just doing some very simple minor improvements to the Yellow Cab and I cracked the *&^&$$#@ windshield!
It is two serious to repair and needs to be replaced. Anybody have one or know where I can get one quick?

Yeah, I would expect Kirk at VS would be quicker than Beck, just from the shorter distance.

One good thing about temporarily having more than Speedster in the garage is that you can borrow from one to give to the other. So today I learned a few new things.
1. Leave well enought alone.
2. How to remove a windshield. Did it twice today.
3. How to replace a windshield.

So, now my Speedster gets a brand new windshield!

I see you found that you can leave the posts intact and gently slide the glass and upper frame away from the cowl, You get my approval seal !

Yup! Didn't know if I could do it that way or not, but gave it a shot. Like you said, very carefully and it was a piece of cake.

I'm amazed. Truly amazed.

Most people would have managed to somehow crack the second windshield, too.

Peter McEwan and I (he's another Speedstah Guy from Beaufort) managed to replace three cracked ones in two weekends with no runs, hits or errors. After that we declared ourselves windshield experts, sat around watching the tide come in and got drunk with some others from the local car club.

Still, we're not as good at doing them as Dr. Clock...

Troy, if you can get one of these taxi signs mounted to your top somehow, it just might work out and help pay for that new windshield in the process.

My next door neighbor is Hmong and they were celebrating the Hmong New Year. He came over and invited me but I was up to my eyeballs in Speedster issues, so I told him maybe next year. It actually was about a month ago, but they celebrate it each week and a different families home.

Several of the guests came over and we talked about Speedsers for about 30 minutes. One of them knows a guy who restores real Porsches and was shocked when I told him what I was selling the yellow cab for. He wants to know if I get another blue widebody!

The neighbor on my other side is Laotian and they invited us to a wedding in their backyard last summer and we got to sample all kinds of different Laotian food. It was very cool and they are all VERY family oriented and extremely nice people.
