With SOC Morro Bay just 4 weeks away, it's not too early to formulate a trip sheet for our traditional Friday morning caravan to Morro Bay. The usual rendezvous times/place are as follows. These details are tentative pending input from caravan group;

08:00 A.M. Friday, April 23, 2010 - SD and OC SOCers meet at CVS parking lot on Seal Beach Blvd (just north of 405 Fwy). Leaving parking lot at 08:20 for...

10:00 A.M. - Rendezvous with L.A./Bay area SOCers in Malibu Beach at Topanga Ranch Motel (just north of Topanga Canyon on PCH). Leaving parking lot at 10:30 and cruise north on PCH through Malibu Beach to...

11:15 Rendezvous with 'Valley' SOCers in Camarillo (McDonald's on Los Posas/101 Fwy). Leaving parking lot at 11:30 for ...

12:00 Lunch stop (and fuel stop) in Carpinteria (food stops to TBD). Leaving Carpinteria at 1:00 PM to Santa Barbara...

In Santa Barbara we will by-pass the longer route along the coast and take Hwy 154 through the mountains, Lake Cachuma and Los Olivos wine country and drop back onto 101 Hwy (just below Santa Maria).

Continue on to San Luis Obispo and onto Hwy 1 to Morro Bay. ETA in Morro Bay 3:00 PM.

This caravan itinerary is PRELIMINARY and will be modified to best accommodate the caravan as a group. Please respond on this thread if you plan to rendezvous at any of these locations, we will wait for you unless you notify us otherwise. Your suggestions are welcome...

We typically have about 15 cars in this caravan (project 43 cars to be at Morro Bay). This event gets better each year...

For those in the South Bay who want to meet up and based on the above times, I will leave the Starbucks (corner Hawthorne/Artesia in Torrance/Redondo) at 9:15 for the trek to the Topanga Ranch Motel.
The route will be the 405 N to the 10 W to PCH N....
