Any interest in reviving the previously postponed SOC Cruise through the canyons of OC and lunch potluck?

Looking for tentative weekends in October...possibly the weekend of October 3rd or Oct 10th, 2009 (for starters).

The trip sheet will be the same as from "Arrowhead alternative cruise..."

Suggestions?

It seems that Saturday, Oct 10th, is the target date for this cruise (start point midway between LA/Hermosa Bch and San Diego/Oceanside) and would allow everyone to get home around 4:00pm (or earlier).

Here is the tentative trip sheet;

1. Meet Saturday, Oct 10th, at 10:00am in Mission Viejo, Target parking lot on Alicia Pkwy exit (2 miles south of the 405/5 junction in Orange County). Those coming from the North (L.A.) turn LEFT onto Alicia. Those coming from the South (Sandy Eggo) turn RIGHT onto Alicia.

2. Leave Target parking lot at 10:30 driving through Trabuco Cyn, Mojeska Cyn, Black Star Cyn and Silverado Cyn. Drive time approximately 2 hours.

3. After leaving canyons, progress to Turtle Rock Park in Irvine for lunch (pot-luck or bring you own?). Plenty of shaded parking for Speedster group within eyesight of picnic benches. Lunch and games (Bocce Ball and/ or Bean bag toss for prizes).

4. After lunch in park (approx 1:30pm), continue cruise down Newport Coast to Laguna Beach. Group can then disperse after Laguna Beach with easy access to 5 Fwy (North or South) via Laguna Canyon Road (Broadway St. in Laguna Beach/Main Beach). Or, if you haven't had enough of driving your Speedster, take the Pacific Coast Highway towards your home destination.

5. The usual video journal will be produced by MUSBJIM/Pineapplehead productions.

As always, cruise suggestions/recommendations are welcome!

Peace - Out!

OK, here is what I have....Teri reserved a condo at the Worldmark Wyndam resort in Indio. 3 bedroom sleeps 8, for the night of Oct 17th. It is a full blown resort with water park type pool area.
You can look it up on the internet...google worldmark indio
200.00 for the room split however many couples we have staying over.
After the Duffy ride, I don't know how close I want to get to Gerd, but at this point in my life I am willing to take the risk...

Palm Springs has a full blown Car/Motorcycle event that weekend...
If you haven't cruised in P.S. it is a great thing to do....

I have until Oct 6th to cancel the room....
Let me know if this sounds like something the group would like to do.
If not we can go with the OC cruise thing as originally planned...
