AHOY, I mean AAARRRRRRRR!! - Need to get plans on the board for another SOC Duffy cruise through Newport Marina this summer! Looking to do this sometime in June. Chime in with possible dates in June. Ginny & I are up for most any weekend. It would be great to get enough SOCers for 2 Duffies!

We did it on a Saturday with dinner at Joe's Crab Shack right after we returned from cruising the marina for a couple of hours. Here are two options for consideration;

Option 1;
Keep the cruise on Sunday the 6th, but get an earlier start (around 11:00am). Have a late lunch after the cruise (we will be snacking on appetizer'/drinks on the Duffy).

Option 2;
Move the cruise to Saturday the 5th leaving the dock around 3:00pm. Have dinner at Joe's Crab Shack or Billy's at the Beach (or wherever in the area).

Open to suggestions here.

Don't know if it helps but I have free, safe, covered weekend parking for about 15 cars at my office which is between Rusty Pelican and Joe's Crabs (www.LarsonsShipyard.com). Usually no one's there on weekends but let me know to give a courtesy notice to the other tenants before we take over.

Best place to rent Duffys is www.boats4rent.com - online reservations, group rates, nice boats. Call Charlie (949) 673-7200.
AAAAARRRRRR! Ahoy you knuckleheaded land-lubbers!!

Sunday, June 6th is 9 days away and I need a hard count of who will be joining us on this Duffy cruise through Newport Marina.

Here is a list of those who have said they will be setting sail with us (please confirm your participation);

Musbjim & Ginny
Vince & Terri
Robert & Tamara
Gerd & Carol
Mr. Bill
Blake & Jenn
Speedster D & Lilli

Rental of 1 (one) Boat: The maximum # of passengers is 12 per boat (21 ft Duffy). The cost per person in this arrangement is = $17/person for a 2-hour cruise.

Rental of 2 (two) boats; If we have more than 12, we will need to split into 2 boats. In this arrangement we will need to amortize the cost of the rental amongst all in attendance. This would cost between $20-24/person (depending on the total number of SOCers that show up).

The boats will available at 12-noon for our two hour cruise. We can bring aboard drinks & snacks and CDs for the stereo. For those who would like a more substantial meal after the cruise, there are several eateries in the immediate area;

Joe's Crab Shack
Billy's at the Beach
Rusty Pelican
jack Shrimp
Chart House

Chime in if you will be able to join us for this Sunday afternoon harbor cruise!
