SoCal SOC Malibu cruise...

PEOPLE OF EARTH!!!

I'm looking to coordinate another cruise, but this time in the northern area of SoCal (Malibu Beach and coast/canyons) so that we can hook up with our buds in the L.A./Valley area (Billy should have his FAT356 dialed in by then).

I'm thinking Saturday of either October 18th or 25th might be our best window of opportunity. I'm speculating that beyond that and into November, folks will be busy preparing for the Holiday Season (vacation or family events for Thanksgiving/Christmas/New Year).

SOC contingent from south could rendevous at the power plant on the beach/PCH in El Segundo (end of LAX runway) and then hook-up with the LA/Valley group somewhere by the Santa Monica Pier (or wherever) for a cruise up the Coast or through the canyons.

Chime in with participation interest/suggestions!

Can the old girl make it? She's made every other trip C&C, Idyllwild, Fammiln Fest, trouble free. She is also running very fine.
I will change the oil etc. and think about it. Always have the phone, towing fallback. Must think about it but would really like to go on this one. Will will go for sure, maybe others from SD.
Chrissa might go, can I talk her into it? Hotel on Fri night closer to the rendezvous but its only 100 miles to meet.

I may just take you up on that.. ! I'm hoping my sweet husband can loan me a car thats sitting there doing nothing but looking nicely completed and in need of test miles.. I can borrow David Gaylords (I think) but he's 6'5" and somehow being a tad less than 5' makes it just a little rough clutching ..not to mention hitting the brake..

What happened to your car? I hope the scumbags that ripped you guys off didn't steal it. Any word on anything yet? I hope you find them.The boat PI over on the Performance boat site strongly suggests contacting LA Sheriff TRAP.

Thanks Gerd..just damn excited to roll with some of you guys/gals! YES..it has not left the garage today; I am ready to drive the wheels off this biatch BUT cleaning black ash out of the interior does not sound like fun...drove her through Santa Rosa last night...really fun and REALLY F-in COLD!!! I think the heater outlet actually warmed the toenail on my left foot and that was the extent of it!!!

What time & where in Malibu?????

That's a pretty good round-up so far! This will be a great opportunity to gather SOC friends and greet new ones to the "Madness"!!

Tentative itinerary for Oct. 25th (Final details and more specific directions will follow later this week);
* SOC Group from South of L.A. meet in parking lot across from Power Plant on PCH in Redondo Beach (just south of the end of LAX runway). Meeting time 09:00am
* South group will rendevous 10:00 with L.A./Valley group at a place to be determined along PCH in Santa Monica (as I am not familiar with this area any suggestions welcome).
* Cruise Route still to be determined (I will confer with my wingman Vince).
* Lunch stop somewhere on Malibu coast (or canyon) to be determined (any suggestions welcome).

Stay tuned for post updates by this Wednesday (Oct.15th)!

Suggestions would be welcome, perhaps once we all gather in Santa Monica somewhere, we can take PCH North to Zuma beach for lunch, then back South thru the canyon on mulholland (sp) dr. past the rock store, and back to old Topanga rd. there is a little Hippie type village area back there....
or we could do the opposite, Topanga first and the canyon run and come out on PCH to Zuma or "Neptune's" (biker hangout) good turn around point....
Any suggestions if you know of something interesting...

What about lunch and tour of the Getty?

I think Vince's suggestion to cruise through Topanga Cyn and come out onto PCH/Zuma Beach (with stops in between) is a very good route.

BTW David - the Getty thing would cut too much into cruise time, plus advance tickets and reservations for groups (9+) are required.

Slight correction to earlier rendevous location for South SOC group. We will meet in the parking lot across from the Hyperion Plant on PCH in El Segundo (not Redondo as previously mentioned). Take the 105 Fwy west (past LAX) and this road becomes W. Imperial Blvd. At PCH turn Left (south) to parking lot entrance on beach side.

We just need a rendevous location to hook-up with the SOCers from L.A./Valley. If anyone knows of a Santa Monica location with relatively easy PCH access and parking (for our group of 10+ cars) please chime in.
