u never know who u r gonna meet in Malibu. Actually thought Brittany Spears was sitting across from our table at lunch. Then out of nowhere someone you all are familiar with shows up. If you are willing to sell your soul for some good today and rot in hell later well here is Mr Lucifer himself. RUN HIDE YOUR WOMEN AND CHILDREN

Hey Gang, had a great time today. Saw some old friends and met some new ones. Everyone is awesome. Let's do it again tomorrow. Or soon, maybe. Billy, your new ride is fantastic. Kirk outdid himself again.
Well I made it home with my Speedie in one piece, A Big thank you to Will for the ride home and AAA card. Dave, thanks for the moral support. I need to get a platinum AAA card if I cruze again. Engine is seized. I need to do something different. Brian with the 912 wants me to sell it to him..... Maybe I should, and get a new vintage? Fix it again? Sell it? I don't know right now. All I know is it was fun hanging out with you guys today and meeting some new faces. To bad I broke down AGAIN, but I still enjoyed the day. Billy, I loved your car, Nice job! Jimbo Thanks for your leadership. We sure had a great turnout and couldn't have asked for better weather. I forget how beautiful California is sometimes. Now I get to go play golf in the dark with glowballs. LIFE IS GOOD!
Later, Markos
Later, Markos
Mark - Just fix it. It won't hurt as much as a new one.
Wow...that was fun...
First of all, I gotta say that having a speedy again and cruising with this bunch, is the best....
Hats off to Warren for traveling all those miles from central calif. to make this run. He gets the long distance award, for sure.
Welcome Brian, one of our new members with a 911...nice car.
Billy, what can I say about billy....He is a mess, but his right seater is a 10, and after all, that's what counts. So he's in....
Kirk did an outstanding job on Billy's wide body. If there are close-up pic's of his ride, check them out.
I want to thank all the right seaters for putting up with our "big boy toys" You all make this that much more enjoyable for attending so we don't feel guilty for leaving you home....besides we got some good looking right seaters....easy on the eyes, if you know what I mean
Jim, thanks for planning this shindig, I enjoyed it a lot....
Great to see everyone...This group is the best, bar none.......
Pic's to follow.......that's if Gerd didn't break my camera when I took his pic....

Mark: Just THINK of the fun you can have picking out a new engine with ALL the bells and whistles!!
That was a great time.
After events like this Tamera and I always say..."Why don't we do this more often"?
It was really great meet all the new faces and seeing all the cool new rides.
Gabe, if you need any help with your exhaust, welding etc... just give me a call (714)376-5634. I'd be happy to help you out.
Jim, thanks again for setting this up. I really appreciate your time in doing this.
Again, we had a great time, and we need to do this more often.

I bet all the East Coasters are jealous...85 in Malibu with Turquoise skies and a light on-shore breeze.
Thanks to all for the kind comments about our new ride..kinda justifies the time and obsessions over colors/design.
Everyone has a very cool car and it is funny (in retrospect) the cars really do fit the personality of the drivers....

So, when are we doing it again? Since our Southern folks made the Malibu run, I'm all good for switching roles and running through the San Diego area!!
Let's NOT wait until Morro Bay!! Great time! BTW, I vote that we should formally nominate Jim as the Great Run Coordinator.

OK, so I got my Atlas out and put my pinky on Simi Valley and my thumb on Santa Ana. my middle finger hung down on Pasadena.....
Not that exciting (nothing personal Dennis)....but Lake Arrowhead was within reach of my middle finger also....We did that run a few years in a row, and although it does require some freeway driving, it was a fun run...(by the way, I was going to be a proctologist, but my middle finger was too short) so we are not talking great distance here...
I don't mean to leave the Sandy Eggo guys out of it by any means, we have also done a Hotel Del a few years in a row, but that's a stretch for the Simi Guys...Also, I am planning on going to Palm Springs for the Auto Auction in November, i believe the weekend before Thanksgiving 11/22/08(overnight Saturday night)The Auction is very cool...

Forgot to mention to everybody at Malibu that there is a Concours de Elegance at Enderle Center in Tustin today (Sunday). The location is 17th Street just east of the 55 freeway. It is featuring European cars only. Google "Enderle Center" if you need details. By the way, great Rock Store photo. Once again, terrific cruise and we enjoyed seeing everyone and adding some new faces to the names. Hey Billy B, Kirk just called and said you can lighten up now, he just adjusted your warranty to 15 years.
Geez! THAT looked like fun! Seeing Vince in a red flared is REALLY different. Is that El Diablo red? Just once I'd love fly out to roll on one of those rides. Haven't been out there since the Watts Riots so I'm way overdue.

To all:
Nina & I just loved the trip...it reinforced the reason for our speedy purchase!!
I posted a trip idea in this "EVENTS section titled: "A December trip to Reagan Library"!
http://www.reaganlibrary.com/
Hopefully Jim Ignacio can help me with organizing it and we can get a group of 15-20 cars together again.
Please see my post and chime in on dates available...I can get a group rate for the X-mas tree exhibit at the Reagan Library and lunch if enough folks want to do it! The library also features the "Air Force One" airplane exhibit which is killer..the whole plane is displayed in a glass building on the bluff of a hill...really cool!!!
The weather is usually mid to high 70's in early December in Simi.
We would cover Simi, Santa Rosa canyon, Camarillo & Ventura pier on the ride.
One idea I had was to ask Roland for VS (the engine builder) to ride along with someone or borrow a VS car and carry some necessary gear/tools..then we would have a mechanic on scene for minor stuff!!! He could do a dog & pony on some engine upgrades he offers (that would encourage him to come along for free!!)
Let me know your thoughts.

Had a great time. Yeah, Gerd, my trip was great going north on PCH and then through Santa Barbara. I went over the hill by Lake Cachuma. It was a great day. My butt is a little numb though. Here are a couple of shots I took.
Well that was great fun yesterday. Great seeing everyone and meeting some more of the SOC regulars.
Will and I hung with Mark after the cruise, since it was on our way and we got to meet his beautiful wife and daughter, his two furry beasts and really nice neighborhood and house. Will used his AAA towing, very generous. Will is a good guy. Mark I know you will get sorted soon, hang in there.
Arrived home at 8:30 pm with a trip total of 280 miles, (thankfully trouble free)
Pics a little later. Thanks Jim and the rest of the crew.
Cheers
Dave

Hey all it was really great meeting you all yesterday. Great group of people. I happened upon this group strictly by chance. I almost didn't even make it up to malibu and then as I flew by the biker bar and see a dozen speedsters dominating the road side... well I had to turn around and join in. Thanks for the hospitality everyone. You can bet I will be a recurring member on this site and at future get-togethers. Cheers!
