I haven't posted in a long a while as I have been knee deep into my Sebring Sprite. I recently sent Ed on his 550 build in a private message as I was commenting an a recent local gathering and drive of four Beck 550's we went on in my DC, Maryland, and Northern Virginia area now referred to as the DMV.
I sold my Beck Speedster back in March and bought a former race car. A 59 Sebring Sprite tribute car that was a race car all it's life. Last raced at Lime Rock in 2016 by it's previous owner and former race driver Bill Prout's son Ian Prout who passed away in 2016, sadly Bill is ill but hanging in-there. In 2014 while racing at Lime Rock Sir Stirling Moss sat in it and signed the dash board unfortunately he passed away this year at 90.
I've had to re build just about everything in and on the car but it's now an awesome street car.
You guys may be interested also that I bought the Sebring through the Bugeyeguy (Bugeyeguy.com) David S. I talked to him at length about the reproduction Speedsters and Spyders out there. He now is interested in them and has 3 Speedsters for sale my Beck and two Vintage Speedsters and engines. Be aware his prices are high IMHO. Here's whats been keeping me in the garage.
