I will reserve two more rooms. One for Roy and the other for Gerd.. They are currently being held on my Visa, but I will have Teri set it up so that you can call individually to reserve it in your name and on your card....
Don't call yet, but you will be asking for the "speedster group"
Give me a day to set it up...
It's only for one night...Saturday the 6th of June

the phone number is 805 688-8448
We have 8 confirmed rooms. perhaps it's possible we can get a break on the price at this point, Teri will find out..
OK here is the latest information..
I have reserved a block of 10 rooms for the evening of the 6th of June...
Hotel: Days Inn...
Phone: 805 688-8448
the Conformation number is "P05072"
You need to call and get a room using the conformation number above and you need to do it before May 6th, at which time any remaining rooms will be unblocked. you can call any time starting now....
There is no price break for the rooms, they are 139.00 + any taxes but this seems reasonable compared to what I was finding out when calling others. I do not know anything about the rooms, but I am told they are clean, which I guess is the most important thing...
So for all of you wishing to spend the night, we have lodging...

Under no circumstances should you send any money to Gerd. He'll just blow it on frivilous extra's on his new coupe...
Hi Troops..
Kirk & Mary are booked and hopefully nothing will change our schedule on this run. We will be leaving Friday morning around 10:00ish (hopefully after traffic) and returning early Sunday a.m.
Anyone want to hook up w/us for the ride either way let me know as it looks like most are going up on Saturday..
See ya all soon.
We are Speedster Run Virgins and are looking forward to hooking up with all ya'll.
Got a room and have a dinner reservation for four under LeeAnn Leonard at the Hitching Post @ 5:00 Saturday night (does the time give away our age?) if anyone would care to join us. I for one am a wine-o, stumbling distance to hotel is nice. hitchingpost2.com to make online reservations or e mail me at leeoftheisle@socal.rr.com and I will add you to ours. This is the restaurant featured in the movie Sideways.

I wanna go, I wanna go, I wanna go..... but, alas, we live 1,500 miles away. Doing another 3,000 mile road trip for a weekend would be insane, wouldn't it? Although we should be getting near the end of the five cases of wine we bought last weekend by then. By the way, I'm usually paying two and a half times the price in Oklahoma for the same bottle of wine in California. Maybe the trip could pay for itself?
Best regards,
Cal
Hi Vince,
This is the best I could do..............I Spoke with Frank the owner/winemaker/chef at the Hitching Post II this morning.
The only time he had open was 5PM and a table of 12 was as large as he would go. The next time he had was 9pm. He said Sat's were extemely busy. I put my credit card down to hold it and still have one other reservation for 5 people @5pm if anyone needs it.
Soooooooooo there you have it.
Sorry I could not get the 6pm or a larger table, but I wanted to get some kind of reservation before they were booked.

Looking forward to the trip.

LeeAnn
Warren,This is what i was thinking...
Saturday morning Leave the Torrance area by 9:00-9:15, Meet at Topanga Motel no later than 10:00....so no matter where you are coming from, if that is your meeting spot, please be there. PCH to Los Posas rd in oxnard and then to 101
Would like to arrive In Solvang 12:30-1:00 for lunch. and then some wine tasting, I liked Fess Parker and Firestone wineries, they were rather professional and one of them had a tour that was pretty cool.
I got a pretty good buzz after 3 wineries last time, so I think 3 would be plenty, and then back to Solvang area... and dinner somewhere that can handle whatever size group we have at the time..
It's still a month away, so I figure we need to give some time for people to decide if they can make it...Please step in with any suggestions, I'm so lame I can't even find a map of the area wineries. This is an SOC run, not my run, I don't get offended by people making suggestions, and if I do, I will let you know, that is for sure...It looks like we are getting a decent response to this run so it should be a kick....

i want to appologize to Robert for choosing a weekend he is busy, I promise to not let it happen again.... and don't forget the reason we changed the date was to accomodate the bug-in the following weekend in Irvine....
These are the SOCer's that have signed up for the run so far.....

I added right seaters where I am used to seeing them and singles the same...post if you are a single or bringing a right seater...
if your name is not on the list, speak up so we can get a car/head count.
Remember we take all comers, if you prefer to drive something other than a speedster, you are still welcome. this is a great group of people..
if your name is on the list, figure out where you want to hook up with the group, there will be a spot in the OC, one in Torrance and then on to Topanga Motel (PCH) with the last stop at the 101 and Los Posas rd....
