Thanks vince his name is Raymond his number is 310.991.3491
He lives in Venice beach
hee is the responses i got from him so you can get an idea about the guy and the tub.
"the body was a fiberfab kit.
i'm a body maker and decided the rear and side sections were ugly.
i widened the rear section in the wheel area by two inch's on each side. this enabled the swing axle to tuck into the body in the full travel of the suspension.
the doors were split and flattened to get rid of the rounded look of the 356 cars.
the front is not widened.
the wheels are 4lug 68 vw, as is the pan/chassis.
the manufacturer? no this is much better looking and was done by myself, i build aluminum body's for vintage race cars, this was a quick project over the summer of 2003.
the car has never had a top and since the windshield is cut down 3" and laid back 10+ degrees it will be necessary to have one custom built."
I thought it would be nice to get another speedsters opnion before i jump into another one (i was lucky the first time).

I just tuned up my car getting ready to sell on sat it sounds sweet,
the couple lives down the street so i sure i will get visiting priviliges, two speedsters for the price of one.
thanks again
Joseph Anthony

Vince invited others to provide information that might be helpful for this run. For any drivers coming from the in-land valley communities who plan to join the group at the Topanga Ranch Motel you might want to consider meeting on the way at around 8:30am at the Starbucks parking lot in Woodland Hills on the Northeast corner of the intersection of Ventura Blvd and Topanga Canyon Blvd. Then we can caravan to the old Topanga Ranch Motel which is just Northwest of the traffic signal where Topanga Canyon Blvd dead-ends at PCH.

Also, Vince mentioned an interest in having some maps of the wineries and the Solvang area posted. You can find some maps at:

Notice the magnification toggle below each map.

Vince,

Long time no chat my friend. Please put me down as a tentative. I think this is the weekend my girlfriend graduates (grad school- I'm no craddle robber). I'd love to make it if I can. My birthday is the following weekend also, June 20th.

Cheers,

Scotty

P.S. I too love scotch, I'll belly up to the bar with you brother.

Vince-
I went to the guy selling the (Audi grey speedster)In Venice beach he lives on Venice blvd and ashwood (across from venice high school). the car was in decent shape but defiantly is a fixer upper. That is all right for me. If you could check the car out for me and help me figure out how much it is worth that would be great, thanks.
here is my number. 714-323-5536
Hope the wedding went well.
You guys are really making me jealous! Great roads, great weather and good friends. I am still having withdrawal pains after Morro Bay. Our weather in Colorado has been windy and wet. YOu are out there having a good time and I am stuck in my garage polishing my old, used cars.

Have a great weekend in Solvang and hoist a glass for me and the LMS.

Happy Trails,
Dusty
Vince,
Since sometimes the Journey is as important as the destination, I would like make a suggestion:
Rather than take the 101 to Buellton (246) then right to Solvang, we could take the 154 (San Marcos Pass) to the 246, to Solvang.
The 154 is a beautiful ride that takes you past Lake Cachuma, Santa Yenez, and beautiful valleys and Horse Ranches.
And, it
Hi Ya Vince/Terri and of course the rest of ya.. !
So, wedding went well. whats that...one down and 2 to go? "Congrats" either way unless of course they moved in w/you all..!
So.. you started a small ltl "Putt" and where are you at now 15-20 cars going? Great.. ! A "Photo" moment. We as you all know missed the last one.. by any chance was the "Speedster" Wine Bottles given out because we have all of them and now I'll be missing one. If so does anyone have one to spare? (Theron)?
Would feel a ltl more secure if I can get a car built or find one to drive.. so far I'm not seeing a thing out in the shop w/o a "name" on it and I didn't see "Mary" on any of what is out there.. (we won't go there will we)? Did finally sell the "Demo" car.. so now what? Drive my (normal) car if nothing else.. jeez, imagine that a/c, roll-up windows and not climbing out like a 70yr old.. (totally boring)
If your are leaving at 10:00 puts you guys in Days Inn apx 1:00 unless of course your stopping for lunch? R U ? seems as though you might need to.
Yikes.. are you doing the winery thing on Sunday or when you get in Saturday?
I'm a tad confused can you tell.. ? Won't make much diff so far we are sticking to leaving after traffic on Friday so let me know if you need anything done when we get up there. Are you planning a "raffle" thing or is this a "shorty"?
drop a line either here or there (being my email)..
See ya all soon.
Mary (Kirk)?
Mary, The plan is for lunch on Saturday in Solvang when we arrive so that our belly's are full for the wine tasting.....Sunday, a cruise in the morning, maybe feed the Emu's and Ostrich population, and visit the miniature ponies...Teri likes the ponies, I do to, but usually the ones that run in a circle at Santa Anita...

I may make it a poker run, and hand out cards at each of the wineries, If I do, I'll have a boy deck and a girl deck as in the past....Think about it....I will furnish one prize for each, you guys can do any additional, if you wish....
