I went ahead and canceled the Hitching Post for Saturday night. (no issues at all) It is pouring here in Huntington Beach right now. I am going to wait and watch the weather until tomorrow to decide if we are still in or not as we have a 48 hour cancelation policy at the hotel.

My opinion is the that I want to drive the speedster and prefer nice weather...

My feelings as well. I love driving the Speedster, but not in the rain unless I have to. If enough folks want to go with an alternate car, Karen and I are in. We have reservations as well, so let us know to cancel if that is what you guys decide. It's all up to you guys who have the longer drive.

As for now I & Kirk are cancelling there will be rooms available should the weather/group change (according to Days Inn). Considering we were going for Friday & Sat. I had not much of a choice other than lose the $ on the room. Time crunch on our resv.
I'll be watching to see if anything flies..

as much as I hated to cancel, I must cancel due to a non functional windshield wiper motor. See some of you at the classic the following week.

I have cancelled my hotel reservation, however, I am going to wait and see on going. Keep us posted if people are still going with the speesters. It was just going to be my time spending with my boy on a trip in the coupe. If it is only driving on our regular car, I won't be going.

Understandable, bummer the weather didn't work out for us. I will check the book and see what works for us in July.

JUNE RUN TO SOLVANG IS CANCELLED

Today, June 6, the sky is blue and the sun is out, what's wrong with these weather forecasters?

If I did my Job like they do their's, I'd be fired......
As it turns out my oldest celebrated her 25th b-day last night and we had a BBQ and Teri and I are in no shape at the moment to enjoy a ride to Solvang anyway......

Somebody lend me un umbrella. The rain is killing me here. No wait, what's that bright light? I'll run outside and see what it is. Gee, I think Karen and I will roll the Speedy out and go wine tasting.

Got home last night from Solvang, as it turns out it was sunny and nice. We had a great time and stayed right in solvang at the Peterson Village Inn., rooms were very clean and very roomy. Price was 141.00 including tax etc. Also checked out a little Motel called Hamlet Motel, not your typical "bates" motel, old but clean and from what I hear there prices are really resonable.

Thats about it.

Jennifer - glad to hear you & Darrin had nice weather in Solvang to celebrate your anniversary! Hope you had a great time!

Jennifer, the problem with most of the hotel/motels in the area, is they require 2 night minimums....If you think that any you have mentioned would be good, see if they will take one nighters for the 18th of July.....post the answer on the July thread.....
