Seems like every time we got a "smoke 'um if you got um", we were doing police call five minutes afterwards. This talk is creepy. I want to go back in time driving my Speedy, but not to think about some little Staff Sargeant standing on a footlocker yelling at me. I believe I kept Fort Ord pretty clean of butts. Anyway, are you guys picking up folks at the old Hotel? Maybe Gerd and I could meet you there so you only have one stop.
Warren, Jim and Curt started it....
I was at fort Ord summer of 66.......for basic
You tell us where you want to meet, we'll be coming down PCH, its all the same to stop at the motel or the college...The motel is a better Kodak moment....
wherever that stop is should be the last before Solvang or a gas/pee stop, it is also where we will draw our first card for the poker hand....
No no, we're (my navigator and me) driving up to Buelton today. I will drive back down in the Speedy and hook up with Gerd and we will go over the hill to PCH. Let's make it the hotel. If we're running late, we'll call and make the meet somewhere up the road so as not to hold you up. I did basic/advanced in May of 64. Had walking pneumonia the whole time.
Rotnroby -

For awhile there I thought you left this world and checked into Rock-n-Roll Heaven. Hope all is well and that all your summer gigs were rocking!

I'm not sure where everybody will be on Sunday, but I'll give you a call Saturday evening when we should have a better idea of who will still be around on Sunday. I'll send you a PM tonight with more contact info..

Looking forward to seeing your ride!
Man o man, what a two days.....400 miles later I need a rest....
Kevin M and Joe L both had car trouble with their main rides the night before, but being the car nuts that they are, they both used back-up vehicles,
Kevin in his Lotus Elise and Joe in his back-up GT...
Joe's GT is a sure Chick magnet, I saw at least 4 good looking women in his car on Saturday......Joe, better keep a towel on the passenger seat.....If you get my drift...
Thanks to everyone who attended "Solvang 06" although we only spent about 2 minutes in Solvang Saturday night.....That's OK, Teri made me go back on Sunday for "Danish Days"............I am attaching only a few pic's, If you want to see all I have from the day, email me and I will forward....
Thanks again to all who attended.....I would have to say it was a success....

Warren et al,

We just got home, 1700. Nice pic, I knew someone(Vince, I thought)would have a posting. It was great meeting you and Karen. This stuff only happens if we get permission and we include them in the activities. You are certainly welcome, Jim and Vince are the veterans, I'm a newcomer, I mostly follow their lead. Stay in touch and let's start planning another one.

It was a great outing and we were glad to see some of the 'oldtimers' and meet the some new folks. Hope we can do it again sometime soon. Be sure to make plans for the Paso Robles Show in April.

Curt and Jo Ann
SOC members in 9 cars heading out on the 2006 Solvang Wine Tour - thanks to Vince for heading up another great trip!

Incorporating a "Poker Run" during the wine tour added another dimension of fun and shenanigans (look out Grant, Esther might use her Poker prize on YOU!).

Here's a short clip of the beginning of the trip in Malibu Beach! That's Esther & Grant's black car in front of me, and Larry Bull's red car in front of them.

Peace - Out!
Just another few pics - thanks to Joe L. and Kevin M. for keeping things lively (hope you guys had an uneventful trip home!), Vince & Terry for the usual guffaws, Curt & Joanne for trip and lodging tips, Warren & Karen for being such good sports and joining us, Tom & Candace for taking that leap of faith to join this raucus group, Esther and Grant for cracking us up with her Poker "Prize", Larry B. for adding to the fun & games!

Looking forward to the next SOC cruise!

Esther -

Heeeyyy, at first Ginny thought I was goofing with the door outside our room, then when she opened it and saw we got TP'd she started laughing cause she knew who the REAL culprit was!

We're glad you and Grant had a good time and were able to finish your weekend with a cruise through HB, Newport, Laguna and Dana Point.

Let's hook-up for breakfast in San Clemente soon!

Peace - Out!
WOW! What a great trip!
Thanks to everyone for letting this "Limey" tag along.
It was fun to catch up with old faces and new.
I run with quite a few car groups and this is hands down the best!
And there's just something cool about a line of Speedsters.
The run back Saturday night was smooth.
Of course, I had to hold back for Joe. :) :P :)
I ended up turning off my radio and just listening to Joe's exhaust note on the ride home.
When's the next run???

P.S. My Spyder has me stumped.
Anybody have a recommendation for a good mechanic in the S.F. Valley?
...I say we start a 'pool' on which cars Joe and Murph show up with!

Kevin - it was a pleasure to finally meet you and share a few laughs over the weekend. We were concerned for your late-night drive home so it's good to hear you had an uneventful trip home!

Joe - thanks for being such a good sport and letting the girls ride in such a cool car, a chance in a life-time!

Looking forward to seeing you at the next get-together!

Peace - Out!
I had the thrill, imagine having a different gal as my right sear cover every hour. All of them, dolls! There will always be a next time.

ATT: MURPH. It sounds like ignition issues. i vote change to a Pertronix or other magnetic pick up. I had the same intermittent problem last year and changing the ignition fixed it. If you want to get together in a couple of weeks to fiddle with it, PM me.
