bruce,
I've got a N.O.S. set of side decos /w inserts and gaskets still in original CMC packageing. $60.00 for the pair plus whatever shipping costs. OR do you have anything to trade, like PORSCHE scripts, or 1600 Super script or Dash handle or ???
I live aprox 120 mi. from you.

I've got a set of 44 IDF Webers. Complete, w/manifolds, Air Cleaners & linkage. (no velocity stacks). They are the older style with the roller/cam accelerator pump linkage. The Manifolds are the EMPI type that are centerline to intake port. (The most common manifolds are the CBperformance type Offset manifolds that make linkage and carb adjustments more convenient) They are jetted for the 2074 motor I have. They have about 1000 mi on them since I rebuilt them. I don't know any history on them other than this. They came with the basket Speedster kit I bought last year.
I ran across a set of 40 Dellortos, and bought them. Not reasonable but available.
Thats why the Webers are on the shelf and for sale. $300.00

Unless you want the JPS side molding or the IM billet side molding, VW bug molding is commonly used.
Buy two sets of VW molding for a 68 or newer bug. That gives you enough pieces to make the Speedster set. They come curved as the VW application uses curved molding. You have to (carefully) straighten them for Speedster fitting. They are aluminum and soft enough to be bent by hand.
They use the little white plastic clips to hold them in place.

CIP1.COM is where I got mine.

Bruce,
Send me your shipping address and I'll let you know how much shipping will cost.
As for the grab handle; I'm debating. My last Speedster had one which necessitates inclusion of a second Warning for entering or exiting passengers.
"Don't use the Windshield as a Grab Handle!"
and
"Don't use the Grab Handle, it's just for looks!"
But let me know how much. I do like the looks.

Greg
If this is a hijack, I'm sorry. I might be able to help you out, Greg. I've got some old ones you can have for free.

I have a 1600 Super, a Porsche rear script, maybe a front script -- but I'll have to look -- and two Speedster scripts in very sad but usable condition.
You could clean the scripts with ease and re-color them however you like. I will probably Brasso them before I put them away or in an envelope.
The studs on the backs of the Super and rear Porsche script are ground down to the thickness of the fiberglass on the back of my car, but they'll do okay and hold just fine.
I also have a 1600 script, but one of the doodads on the back is broken off. If you're not looking for new, these will get you by.
I finally got my Outlaw scripts ordered, so I won't be using any of these when I take them off the car. I'll shoot photos of them, if you want. Just bear in mind that I've beaten the dog poop out of my car, and they're not in stellar shape.
They'll be removed before the end of the month. I'm waiting on air mail from Australia. The day they get here, I'm stripping the others off.

TC, if Greg takes a pass, you've got dibs. I can launch them with the hibachi grille.
