I'm looking into these cars pretty hard now as something else to just toy w/ and drive around town every now and then. I like the race look with the old classic numbering, sleek windshields, gt mirrors ect. and doing some searching around on the net I found this Big Bend Open Road Race held every year here in Texas. OK, so even more reason to get a speedster right?

What other racing/rally is out there?
Any Texas guys wanna point out some other local fun like this, I saw there was a rally down in Dublin as well?

I've always loved my H1 Hummers and will continue to always have at least one in the garage but I haven't ever really owned any "fun" small cars. There has always been something about these little speedsters I've liked and now seeing that there are things other than a car show or something to do with it may just really seal the deal!

Looking at their web site it looks like it is run on the same basis as the Silver State Classic in Nevada. If so, you establish a target average speed for the distance (Silver State is 90 miles and lowest average speed starts at the 100 mph speed). You are scored on how close to your stated average speed you maintain for the course length. Need a navigator!
Did the Silver State in 2001 as navigator in the Unlimited Class (no stated average speed - flat out time/speed) and we took 2nd overall with an average speed of 184+ mph and a time of less than 30 minutes. What a rush!!!
Zack.
If you're in the market to buy an "outlaw" I've got the car for you. It doesn't have the "old classic numbering" but that would be easy to add and they are not pictured or applied, but it does include the Pegasus decals and the Reutter badge for the fenders.
