I bought the original of this ad on e-bay recently and thought you guys and gals might like a copy. It is from a Sports Illustrated dated March 21, 1955. Note (if you zoom in close enough) that the illustrations feature the original "Speedster" side script, no mirrors (like most 1955 Speedster ads), and seats with no slots. Enjoy!

Brian, it could be because mirrors were a dealer installed item; they didn't come with them from the factory. Thanks for sharing!
