Hi,

3 or 4 of the spyder guys are getting together for a great drive in Sonoma / Marin counties.

I'd be even more fun if some of our speedie pals joined in. The starting point in Windsor is around 2 hours from either Sacto or San Jose. The ending point in Novato is about 1-1/2 hours from either. (obviously it is closer to the Penninsula or East Bay) Figure about 4 hour's worth of togetherness on the route, including lunch and b.s. stops. Changing sceanery from vinyards to river valley to redwoods to plenty of hwy 1 coastline, and lots of twisties. Pretty, pretty drive.

Here's the route:

Leave Windsor from Cafe Noto just off Hwy 101 on the Town Green at 10:30. End up at Hwy 101 in Novato by 2:30 / 3:00 with plenty of time for lunch and BS.

If you want to sat-map virtual preview the route: http://tinyurl.com/2byhxb

Directions:
West on Windsor River Road, one block
South on Windsor Road
South on Slusser Road (behind Sonoma Airport)
West on River Road
South on Mirabel Road to Forestville
West on Hwy 116 / Guernville Hwy to Guernville
Continue West on 116 in Guernville out to Hwy 1
South on Hwy 1 with Kodak breaks.
Stop in Bodega Bay at The Tides for those seeking bladder relief.
Continue South on Hwy 1 to Valley Ford Cuttoff
Back on Hwy 1 again at Valley Ford
Down Hwy 1 to Marshal for lunch at roadside sandwiches and oysters.
Continue down Hwy 1 and loop through Pt Reyes Station
East on Pt Reyes - Petaluma Rd
Right on Nicasio Valley Rd
Left on Lucas Valley Rd to Hwy 101 in Novato.

Hope you can make it,
RS60 Mark

Here is the actual stree address for the starting point of Cafe Noto at 630 McClelland in Windsor, CA 95492.

I think on Sundays there is something of a small "farmer's market" going on, but there'll be parking somewhere within 20 spaces of Cafe Noto.

There's nothing special about Cafe Noto -- it's just a place that is right off 101 and as good a starting place as any.

Coming north on 101, take the main Windsor exit (the exit after Shilo Road). At the foot of the main Windsor offramp, turn left under the freeway.
There'll be a stop light just under the freeway, and another a few hundred feet later. Go straight through both those stop lights, past the McDonalds on your right.
Then turn right in one block on Bell (very small street) and after another hunderd feet turn left on McClelland. You're there.

See the map, it will all make sense.

Need gas? After you exit the freeway and cross under, there will be a Shell and Chevron station right in front of you on the right.

Hope you can make it!
(Encourage your favorite right-hand seater to come along!)
