Settling in to the new Speedster. It looks like i have a late 912 (pretty much the same as a 356) motor. Does ayone here know where the numbers are on the motor so I can find out the displacement and year?

Also, some time ago I saw a post where someone had added supports from the trans forks to the rear "D-Ring" on thier CMC (Fiberfab) for extra support. Anyone know how this was done? The 912 motor has a rear hanger and I would like to give this area some more support.

Don't know if this helps, but I plan to fit a "kafer cup" brace to the rear of my car this winter to help support the T4 engine i'm installing.

This triangulates the engine forks with the rear shock mounts for added support.

Thanks Wolfgang and Simon. I hadn't thought of the Kafer brace. That should help quite a bit.

My motor doesnt have the serial where it should be. Must have been a replacement case. Some VW cases are that way...
