Sound of car

Hey guys,

I don't have to sell the car after all...Great news!

My Speedie unfortunately sounds like a lawnmower! I'm not sure if I can change the exhaust or if this is just how the cars are meant to sound. I want a sound very low key, maybe even exotic.
Any suggestions would help...

what engine do you have in there?

Also what exhaust do you currently have?

Air cooled engines do sound different than a V12 for sure. Lawn mower could be exhaust leaks - you'll see black marks where the shouldn't be. Or time to adjust the valves. A Monza/Anza style 4 chrome tip exhaust gives a more throaty sound than say an extractor/stinger system. So what's on it now, a Lawn Boy? There are loads to chose from - some fit better than others. Try the search here as others have stated what they use.

Mine sounds like this: Monza 4 pipe exhaust. I love the sound.

And mine like this!!!!! I have dual 14" Glasspacks.

A1 sidewinder, i never use the radio anymore.

Nice videos!! How did you pull the video off youtube and post the thumbnail of it here on this site, without having to be transported to youtubes site to view the video? Pretty cool.

I tried to email the video to myself off youtube... but when the email arrives & I click on it, I'm transported back to youtube. I have an iMac which should make things super-easy. Lots of times I can drag items (videos & photos) right off a webpage & directly onto my desktop for later use. Click on the small icon on my desktop, and bingo, there's a video clip. Not so for youtube. Hmmmm.... ;o) Thanks!

Towards the bottom of the page will be info on how to 'embed' your YouTube video on your reply post!

See the YouTube box at the bottom when you post a reply box? Go to the YouTube Video and copy the EMBED code at the right of the YouTube video and paste in the box at the bottom of your POST REPLY box in the You Tube space.... Like this!

I have a stock 1600 with a Monza exhaust and it sounds just like the typical VW Bug. Sure wished it sounded like Mike's clip above.

I love it. A picture is worth a thousand words but a video tells the story.
