The rubber on my running boards has dried up and needs replacing. Anyone know where to get new ones? I've searched the sites of the vendors and builders but can't find anything.
Ideas?
Thanks, Jim

I think its industrial rubber ribbed hall runner material so Lowes/HD.
.
I thought so until I took a closer look. They look to be some sort of formed vinyl or rubber with a finished outer edge. The passenger side was still in one piece, see pics.
That also looks like the Home Depot/ Lowe’s rubber pads with the right angle lip used on stairs ( for any slip).
real 356 use the flat stuff... not the right angle stuff.
here is a parts diagram. The Lowe’s/ Home Depot stuff is cheaper... looks the same, probably last longer.

Thanks guys appreciate the help. I'll go to Loews this weekend!
I used Home Depot stair tread material. It comes in lengths up to 50”. A couple of 3’ or 4’ pieces should do and cost a lot less than a vinyl hall runner, plus the stair tread will lie flat while the hall runner stuff comes in a roll and likes to stay in a roll. The finished lip seems perfect for the outside of the car threshold and forms a nice, neat finished look.
I’m just about to get another stair tread to use next to my foot by the dead pedal, too. (Hint: You can also reshape it slightly with a heat gun).
My Fiberfab Speedster has a sand paper type material like skateboarders use on their boards. Does anyone else have this on their Speedster?
Mine started out with that, then I installed the stair tread stuff.
Were you ever a member of the Corvair Club of America and or attend any of the Corvair guys driving events. I have had Corvair powered cars on many race tracks across the country with this group. I think I posted a pic of the 900 lb. 250HP Corvair powered vintage Formula Atlantic open wheel race car? Man I was young in that pic. The car was a rocket.
