South West/Central US Club Discussion

Hi,
You all know I'm in Dallas. I was thinking we should start a
regional Speedsterowners chapter. I would advocate including Texas
and Oklahoma. I don't want to step on any toes and even if we
included an area, it could be carved back out, based on the
Speedsterowners desire. It could even include Arkansas and New
Mexico... Anyway, sound in. I would think we could have a couple of
meetings and people can come as possible.

One each prospective member reporting in, OKC faction. I think you
prpose something that we can use to put together some fun events & a
chance to have some Speedster bonding. I'll call Randy Condor, who
has a killer big time stroker equipped CMC non-flare car here in OKC.
I'm pretty sure he would be into a club. There's a guy in Tulsa that
is buying a used car, I'll send mail and get him onboard. I nominate
you as Grand Poobah, El Guapo, Ze Prezeedent!

Hey guys, although I am about 1.5-2 years away from getting my
Speedster, I would love to see all of the cars when you meet for a
cruise. Please keep me on the "mailer" for any updates or meetings.

This sounds like a good start... We can build it as it grows! I'll
serve my duties, and share them as we go. Let's see who else signs
in over the weeks to come.

Justin, feel free to ride with me.... After meeting you & your Dad, well I got to see first hand your deep passion for these cars. Sorta like me in my early 20s. My money says you'll have one in 1-2 years... Anyway, just send me a p-mail & I'll pass the home number again.

Randy.... dude. Man that is one beautiful car. I've got some good shots of it I'll share when we meet next. If you want to meet somewhere in town and cruise a bit.. well let me know. I would be very interested in a Speedster Club. My wife and I are planning to buy a Speedster in 6 months to a year. We would be very excited to learn more about Speedsters!

Count me in. I'm in Tulsa, and am planning on starting my project sometime this fall/winter. Would love to take a peak under the hood of a few Speedsters to make sure I do the job right.

There is a big show coming up, It is September 15 in Ennis, about an hour south of Dallas. We could do that, or we could have a drive and meet up by Turner Falls or maybe an upcoming Tulsa show.

Please rate your likelihood of attending.
5 = I'd make it.
4 = Definitely would attend if no conflicts.
3 = Somewhat likely to attend.
2 = Kind of tuff for me to consider that one.
1 = I doubt it all together.

A.) Saturday meeting in the Turner Falls Area. 55 miles north of the Texas/Oklahoma Border on I-35. We could do mid-afternoon and cruise that pretty, curvy mountain road. Maybe lunch or dinner in the area.

B.) Metro VW Big Bug Shootout, September 15, 2002 12 am to 12 am in Ennis Texas. It

There is a big "Bug Swarm" right here in Arllington at the Ballpark on the 7th if anyone is interested. Please do weigh in on a location and I'll help schedule. I've only received one response, so resend in case something weirded out... even here would work.

I'll be at the Alfa club track day at Hallett on the 7th, but will do my best to attend any other dates. Saturday's are generally bad for me for out-of-town excursions until my son's football season ends. I'm not a card-carrying owner yet, so don't schedule on my part.
