Who's planning to join the southeast caravan this year?  I will probably do as I have done for the last couple of years and leave Tuesday, overnighting in either Asheville or Johnson City, and meet up with the folks at the diner in Bristol (it is Bristol, right?) on Wednesday for the cruise up to Christiansburg, VA.

What's the plan, guys?

Waffle House I know about, a waffle hose, not to sure. Is it one of these??

And I do recall a wet Sunday breakfast w/ those you mention at The Waffle House.  And my first introduction (Thanks to Danny P.) to WTF is an idle jet, and why should I care.  And also, as I recall, I learned about hydro-lock, as it rained right into one of my cylinders before I got a tarp, car cover and rain hats.

That was a great Carlisle trip, even though that Harley Tour Nazi picked me out of the tour group and had me escorted out of the building. BWAAAAA HAAAAAAA!  Even before the tour, the docent in the lobby was pretty close to being punched-out by Doc Howie for harassing his kid. Potential for throwing down, I love that part!

It was then that I knew I was amongst the best group of gear heads (SOC) you'll find anywhere!

Don't blame HD, or at least not completely -- blame OSHA and the Feds.  Used to be that you could go down to East Baltimore and take a really cool tour of the GM/Chevy assembly plant -- watch them build cars.  Not any more.  Too dangerous for plain old civilians to be in the factory.  That said, I was pissed that Jimbo was tossed out of the HD tour -- that just seemed mean at the time.

Peace Out!!

HD had emerged from a labor contract dispute in 2007 and the downturn in the economy had certainly hurt their business.  Perhaps things have cooled down and another visit would leave a different taste in your mouth Lane.  My HOG magazine seems to suggest that life is good for Harley riders and when life if good for the customers, life should be good at the factories.

I will take responsibility for calling the Brooklyn Grill before drive day to make certain we don't have a disappointment like two years ago.  Of course thanks to the good graces of Tom we had a delightful lunch at his golf club a few miles away.  Meeting time at the grill would be sometime between noon and half-past.  Be there or be square.

Yes, anyone interested in joining us, it is easy to figure the timeline. We are joining others from the Southeast in Bristol, TN at 12:00 on Wed. May 13th. We are taking the scenic route through north Georgia and into the Smoky Mountains, thru Asheville, and then North to Bristol. From there onto Christiansburg for the night. Coming from Florida will bring you thru Atlanta on either I-75 or I-85. Both feed into I-75 north and then I-575 into North Georgia to join our route.

More the merrier!
