Dave and Linda,

It was great meeting you both. I think we laid some groundwork last weekend for some great get togethers in 05. Already talking of another SOT in Ashland, Parts Obsolete in June, maybe Knotts in April, and some touring in the San Juans. And it isn't even 05 yet. Got to love it!

Talk about great timing for the 04 SOT, Tonight it is raining and saying some more tomorrow but back to the sunny, 70's and 80's next week! We were blessed last week with great weather, scenry, and friends.

Thanks Dave and Linda, Barb and I may drive up your way next spring, on the agenda, we'll see what works out.

Thanks again, Bruce
Hi Ray, Seen your pictures, they are great, We loved the one Rick took of you and I fixing my "nuts" It was great to meet you and run with you, enjoyed your company.
Bruce and Barb, We do hope to see you on the Island this Spring, our door is always open, and our guest room is always ready. That applies to all of you if you ever get up our way, It was a pleasure for us to spend time with all of you. Beautiful Cars>>>Great people>>>>
Regards: Dave and Linda.
Ray,

I looked at the Pics first and thought, "something has been added."

Looks cool, what kind of driving lights are those and where did you get them? I am toying with the thought myself and looking at the possibilities.

Hopefully will see you guys at Thunderhill. Brian or whomever. What is the schedule for the races and I'll need times and directions since I don't have a GPS yet? Planning on both days or just one day and which one?

Ray, we had a nice rain last night and although cool and in the mid 60's today, we are getting some sun. Rest of the week looks aces!

For everyone who couldn't make it and also those who did, I just put together 5 images into one wide vista so you might appreciate one of natures wonders that we saw on Sunday at the SOT. "Incredible" is hardly adequate to describe it! There's not a Speedster to be seen yet I'm still in awe.

Rick,

Great shot, it captures the vista perfectly. It is the deepest lake in the USA, almost 2000 feet at its deepest. Deeper than Lake Tahoe. We try to get up there a couple of times a year. Last April we went up and viewed it from atop a 20 foot snowbank. On a clear day I would highly recommend a early spring visit. They keep the road open all year to accommodate the cross county skiers and snowmobilers. I feel so blessed living here in Southern Oregon, real Speedy country. Thanks Rick.

Bruce
Ok, I have reviewed the pics and I have to say that I am envious beyond words.

Your model??? Hmmm. How in the heck did you do that? I mean to superimpose a young babe in that background shot of Eddie's ultra clean Speedy is beyond anything I've tried with any Photo Software. Verrrrrryyyyyyy good job.. right down to placing a second person on the scene in a photog pose. Trick stuff Rick. One Question though... where did you all find a pic of a model half squatting like that? ;-)

And, I'll take you up on that invite Rick. There's odds on that I may be in the Territory shaking something out after the ice melts.

I love that shot of you all crossing the bridge... that shot just exudes a certain feeling. And, what a great cross-section of builders and styles. There was Retro, Classic, Outlaw, James Dean, Roll Bars, spouts, duals, Super Caps, Wide Fives, Moons, Wide Whites, and a great array of colors.

Bruce... somehow, someway in 05. God Willin' and All.

What a neat event. My congrats to all of you lucky enough to make it.
Jim, with any luck that fake photog will be sending me a proof, shot that day using my car for a photo op. I probably could have had her on the hood, if it had not been for her MOM supervising the hole affair. I guess I better look for older models if I'm ever going to achieve your status and fame.

Humble Grasshopper Eddie
OK Eddie,
I get the subtle message. I'll get a man on that. Hey, I really enjoyed that magazine article on your "HotRod" Colt. Pretty cool stuff.

Jim,
you must be talking about the "ice" melting somewhere else as it rarely snows where we live. Maybe 3-5 days around Dec. / Jan. but no guarantee. What is certain is lots of rain which no one has to shovel! The seasonal tip: bring a waterproof jacket and a cap. There is an old tourist saying about Vancouver that goes: "In January you can ski in the morning and golf in the afternoon, both within sight of each other".
Not many places in the world that have bragging rights to that claim!
Rick
Rick and Jim,

We can do that right here in the Rouge Valley. Ski Mt Ashland at night (or day) and play golf a few miles away. The course we live on has play virtually 365 days a year. a couple of years ago we got a couple of inches of snow and nobody golfed but that is the only instance I can remember. 45 degrees out and the golfers are in shorts and T shirts if the sun is out, no kidding.

Anyway, sounds like we are going to have new sights to see at Knotts in 05, Jims new wheels and hopefully the "return of the Jodi" Hey, that sounds like the title of a movie I saw.

Going to fill Speedy up with gas this week and put the top up and the cover over the little guy, that time of year I guess, although it will be 85 today and 88 tommorrow. It can't last but Speedy will be ready for a run anytime the weather looks good. Waiting for next Spring. I'm already penciling in items on the 05 calender!

Bruce,
The Speedster has seen a lot more seat time than the Deuce lately. The IM is, believe it or not, more "friendly" to drive in the rain than the '32 due to the Hiboy styling. Side curtains or not, the '32 is marginal in the rain and unlike the Speedy, it rusts! It is also due for a freshen up so will sit for a couple of years while I find time. Time is always precious and I'm trying to reduce the projects and enjoy more driving.
Meantime the IM gives us lots of top down fun, as you know, and seems welcome at any gatherings we drive to. We're having a ball meeting you and all the other neat people that share interest in these funky cars. I've had the need for a Speedster under my skin for years now and it feels good to finally scratch that itch.
Rick
Thanks Amigo, ben thinkin' bout a new lump for the ride. I can't decide between a 2110 using my heads and exhaust system and webers, or a 2275 using my heads and exhaust and webers, or a 2275 with bigger heads, bigger exhaust, and 45 Dells. Decisions, decisions. Call me anytime

Eddie
Eddie and Jim,
Here are a couple of extra pics for you guys to check out. They are in my Photos section (rdavis) labeled SOT_0739.jpg and SOT_0741.jpg. They didn't upload correctly and the thumbs don't show in the gallery but they open when you click on them.
Eddie, I sent you some extra image files this morning via E-mail.
Rick
Rick, thanks for the extra shots of the two lovelys. I gave a card to the female photog that day when she asked if she could send me a proof. I'm not holding my breath. Also I wasn't able to get those files , and would like them printable if that's possible. Let me know if there is anything I can do to help.

Cheers Eddie
ABout ten miles driving after I got back from the tour my car gave out a a loud clatter and gave up the ghost. I am grateful that this did not happen down in GP. The tow of $120 was bad enough as it was. If you are intersested in the gory details follow the thread on Techinical General.
Cheers (yeah, right) : - (

ANd this was a new custom built motor from a local reputable shop!
