I will soon have an Ignighter II kit for my 1600cc engine. Distributor, coil, wires, etc. Is there a spark plug that is best with this system, or are the new Bosch WR 8 AC+ that I have adequate?
They have a center electrode enhanced with Yttrium...yup...Yttrium...whatever the hell that is. Probably some "Rare Earth Mineral" thing.

Cape Dude!

Those plugs are fine.

"Yttrium" is Iridium in Yiddish, that's all........ ;>)

Gap 'em at .035-.040. (You might go wider, like .045, but I don't know how hot that coil is.) ((Now I'll probably get a buncha comments about that gap being too wide - If you agree with them and think your coil is closer to stock power, drop to .027 - no biggie))

Replace 'em at 75,000 miles or so.

Rave on.

P.S: Why "8" heat range instead of W7 AC's? I happen to be using 8's in Pearl (W8 AP with platinum tips), but most stock 1,600's go with W7's. Just curious.......W8 AC's should run just fine, IMHO...
