has anyone tried the extended tip champions l87yc or the ngk bp series, in stock heads. they will fit, and not hit pistons.i have used these for years in 356 motors, but not yet in vw. bill

never liked champion plugs in my VW heads, had an issue way back , first time I removed them to replace, the threads from the heads came out with the plug, ended up having to use a heli-coil, but lost compression.
