I just finished installing a GPS Driven Speedo that I bought from Carey at Special Edition. It wasn't too hard to install and it works amazing. I had a Chinese VDO knock off that was squealing like a crazy pig and the needle was jumping all over the place not to mention it read 8MPH fast when it worked. I love the smooth movement of the new speedo's needle and having an accurate MPH Reading is nice also. It was a wonderful 68 degrees today here in Southern Indiana, it was zero with 25 below wind chill less than a week ago. Who says global warming is not for real? It was fun to get my Speedster out for a drive today. I was smiling so hard my face hurt.

I have a GPS Speedometer made by VDO that was purchase from Carey at Beck/Special Edition too. It's very accurate and it also displays your speed in KMH which makes a big difference if you like driving with the knowledge you'll always know exactly how fast you are going; however, I have one problem with my example. I am still trying to figure out why it will not light up at night like the other instruments on the dash.

Did you wire it into the instrument panel lighting circuit?
You need to run a ground wire that jumps to both lights and the tab on the back of the speedo as the directions show and run a power wire off of your head light switch to both the light bulbs. This speedo wires up a little different than the Chinese VDO cable driven speedo's. Mine works and lights fine. I hope you get yours figured out. I had to remove my drivers seat to make room for me to lay on my back to work under the dash. Taking the seat out and back in took longer than installing and wiring the speedo.
I even took the wheel off
That sound effect link was dead on what my old Speedo sounded like!!
I didn't have to go as far as taking my steering wheel off thank God.
Jimmy I am glad you weren’t disgruntled at the sound bite.
No worries. Very funny.

I spent a good deal of time in the Midwest; prior to the Global Warming hysteria. And I’ve found firsthand temps could be 60 one day and 0 the next.
I vividly remember (when I was in college) a 68 degree day in February where I wore shorts and sandals to studio. Working all day long, I paid no attention to the weather conditions outside. 12-hours later, 4 inches of snow was on the ground. It was a frigid walk back to my apartment.
