I visited SAW last month and they were not very far away from having a working prototype. However, I was disappointed to hear that the engines, transmisisons and suspensions will all come from wrecks--nothing new or rebuilt.

However, the owner is a very knowledgeable mechanical engineer and he has been in business for a long time. I do plan to keep a eye on future developments.

I also visited Intermeccanica several weeks ago, and decided to order a Speedster with the new "Ultra" 170 HP engine on the spot. They have an impressive facility and Henry is extremely knowledgeable. He has a proven product that has been continually fine-tuned over the years.

Brian, congratulations; you can't go wrong with one of Henry's cars. If it won't cramp your budget, ask about putting a 901 5-speed in. You can get a CHERRY rebuilt 901 from Carquip in Boulder, Colorado.

Carquip built my new 901 with my choice of ratios and a torque-biased limited slip differential. Not inexpensive, but it will increase the driving pleasure (and performance) a lot.

Gorge, I am certain you are correct about the 901 5-speed, but I wanted a simple turn-key car. I have it max'd out with everything important that Henry offers, however. I am not interested in coordinating a project involving more than one company. My knowledge is limited at this point and I have too many other hobbies/interests that require much of my time (boating is a big one).
Sorry for the delayed response, but I am cruising my boat this summer in and I do not have a sat link on the boat. I can't tell you much about the "Ultra". It is made by CB and has around 60 or 70 more cc's than the 2110 (his other preformance motor). I ordered the engine based solely upon Henry's recommendation. I will provide more input after delivery. PS: I am a part-time enthusiast, and although I have an engineering background, I have not been into mechanical aspects of the cars like most on this site. (I guess you can tell by my response!)
