Took the Speedster out for a short ride today to the beach . The new engine ran great ,shifted smooth, almost all sorted out. I look down to see if I should be worried about the Park Rangers trying out their new radar gun.....I'm doing 0 kph according to my speedometer.

I don't have time to sniff out the problem today (Mother's Day) but I'll get to it soon.

Any suggestions on my most logical course of action would be appreciated. It was a little noisy last Fall, so I'm guessing that something snapped. It's always sumpthin'.

Yeah, the cable replacement is pretty straight forward, but remove the old one and measure it for length, then convert that to a metric length and get one the same length (there are about 6 different ones and one will match your length).

Some have the "Jesus" clip Greg shows, and others have a cotter (or coffee, or codder) pin through the end after it protrudes from the grease cap.  Doesn't make a difference.

Speedo cable failure is way common.  About as common as New Jersey visitors to the Cape in Summer.
