Ok. So the rewire went well. All works. The speedo worked 30 miles last night. I tidied up the wiring and glued the carpet back. Tonight's drive was a bummer. No speedo. The speedo before was a little jumpy, so I guess it's possible it just broke. I tried fitting the new super beetle cable in ( chassis is 71 super) and its a different size thread it seems. Is this an optical illusion? Guess I get to rip out the carpet and put a new speedo cable in. Hope it's not the repop gauge already. Is this a pretty easy thing down on the wheel side of things to replace?
